Just wanting to get an idea how much H2O yall carry in your get home bags.

I carry 2-1 liter bottles in the bag and have a Camelbak with 3L. May seem like a lot, but it'll help stave off dehydration and it also has an added benefit...

I've got 3 .5 liter bottles in my pack and keep at least a case of water in the tool box of the truck. I also got an empty water bottle on my battle belt and a water purification pump in my pack.

1 quart of water in a Nalgene, an empty pint soft bottle, and a MSR mini works filter in the GHB.

I want to add a larger bladder that will be compatible with the filter.

How long does a bladder keep without getting nasty? I have one I keep in the freezer when not used so it doesn't get all dirty and germy. If it is sitting in a bag long term is it a problem? If not I could add mine to my bag easily enough.

2 1-liter Aquafina bottles, specifically because they have normal caps and can work with my sawyer mini. Plus a Nalgene filled with food items.

I did an overnighter to test my bag and believe I can get by with 2 liters for 48hr but would definitely fill my Nalgene when I found a clean/filterable water source.

1 Naglene plus a mini works filter. Around here, finding filter friendly water isn't an issue.

Depends. If I going to work or somplace near home none. Access to water is reliable and I have a life straw.

If I'm traveling more than a few hours where I'll be in the middle of no where I'll carry a 3 liter bladder

At work. I'm 3mi from home. My GHB consists of my running shoes and that's about it. - My daily 32oz bottle would prob get slammed before I sped off on foot.

My work has a reverse osmosis system so I refill frequently.

My work is about 28mi. from home.
So I have a 1L, an empty Nalgene, a Life Straw, tabs and sillcock key in my GHB.

I was at REI the other day for a new pair of backpacking boots. Since they're running their Labor Day sale, I took a look at pretty much everything in the store, like I do - deciding how much shit I'd be willing to take from the wife for whatever I filled the bag with.

Anyways, saw these (@Jerzsubbie mentioned these already) and thought they'd be pretty handy if used inline with a bladder like the last picture. Filter as your drink, and good for 100,000 gallons. Plus, as jerzsubbie said - they screw on the regular water bottles as well. Just fill it from a source, attach the Mini and drink.

I'm only 8 miles from home if I'm at work (unless I swam across Lake Norman - then it's 6). I keep several litters in the FJ. More for events where people might turn stupid and make movement difficult (eclipse, etc).

Gottta Nalgene bottle and usually have 3 or 4 smaller bottles full that get rotated out. Also have a Sawyer squeeze filter so I'm good

Strictly what I buy now. Can't beat filter longevity and price. My Katadyn hiker pro was $50 and it only lasts 250gal. Replacement filter are like the same cost as a new unit. Only benefit is pump speed imo.

I recommend having coffee filters and rubber bands on hand to filter large sediment from the dirty water first. Help extend filter life.

A couple of typical clear plastic 1L bottles. I like them because they can not only be refilled but are easy to make funnels, etc. out of for filtering, etc.. Also purification pills and a portable filter I've forgotten the name of.

1. like T7, i have a sillcock key.
2. like JR, i keep bottled water in my cup holders. six as well plus 2 refilled Pedialyte bottles.
3. actually "in" the bag right now? none. the bag is in the vehicle where the water is.
