Building a bedroom, I'm at the drywall phase. I have everything prepped and ready to go with the ceiling (installed & taped, ready to start mudding)

I'm wondering if anyone has any OTHER ideas, besides drywall & mud, etc. that might be easier, OR if anyone has any suggestions about how to make finishing the drywall ceiling easier.

Whatever you do don't go with popcorn or sanded grout. It's easy and looks good when it's fresh but it gets dirty and is literally impossible to clean.

Tin is nice in some circumstances.

Doing it yourself?

Nope. Get up there and get busy!

Once you get into the swing of things, just look at it like mindless work to relax and unwind by.

It's not hard... just takes some time.

Popcorn is out unless I want to find another place to stay for the next 5 years (at least). (Plus, I hate that stuff too).

My wife suggested this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Global-...-Ceiling-Tile-in-Matte-White-320-50/205298494
That seems like a good option. Mud it enough to fill the gaps & level it out a bit, but I don't need to work it until it's completely even like I did the walls. That's a lot like your tin suggestion, only lighter and easier to work.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to hang on to them for future projects!

Good suggestions. Hard to say without knowing the decor in the room. The most beautiful houses I have been in have tray ceilings. Next is a flat ceiling with two and three piece molding. I have white ceilings but designers are now painting ceilings very light blues and light seafoam to add character.

Just remember a couple things: if you want to sell will potential buyers like what you did. Also will I grow tired of something that is a nightmare to change.
