My main PC has been doing a lot of weird things lately and it's starting to affect my work. RDP has quit working, internet will slow to a crawl for some web pages and any videos but speedtest.net will show I'm doing fine, other things i can't recall right now have begin working extremely slowly or not at all and some of them are parts of Windows (like RDP). Also the damn thing will wake itself when it's supposed to be hibernated, and god knows what it's doing in the middle of the night.

I haven't wiped and reinstalled a PC for a while, and in the Windows 10 age I'm not sure where to begin. My win 10 is grandfathered in via upgrade and it's predecessor was not exactly completely registered (ahem) so I'm wondering what my options are. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Two ways:
1.) The right way -

2.) The other way - don't do this -
Go on a torrenting website, download an iso of windows 10, and use rufus to put on a thumb drive. Restart computer, reinstall OS, and then use KMS pico to make windows genuine. All of this is illegal and you shouldn't do. Think of this as an example of what not to do, so you know better what not to do. :p

So when you do a reset, this is the recommended way to do a clean reinstall?

I still do it with a Windows 10 image, but I like doing it the long way with more control. That is the way Windows built it in, to make it easier for most people.

oh gosh, don't do that. Go to Walmart and buy aWin7 disc and go from there. Win10 is not that much of an improvement...
Windows 8 made a lot of speed improvements over 7, which carry into 10. And I like 10 if just for the forcing people to update. That saves the average person from tons upon tons of vulnerabilities(even if it's annoying as all get out).
