I wanna talk about a kind of scary encounter I had with a guy and what kind of pocket carry I should use.

So, I’ll start by saying I’m an old punk rocker, hillbilly born in 1972. I’m 6’3” and over 400lbs, stewed, screwed and tattooed! I can be intimidating to some dudes with fragile egos that want to test me but I’m a big ol teddy barr, I love errbody

I’m pretty much retired, I have epilepsy, heart and lung issues and some other health issues that disabled me a couple of years back at 47 years old.
So I work one day a week for my friend who owns a shop near uncg in Greensboro. When I was working a few weekends ago this young man walked in and asked about a vanity tag on the front of my van.
It’s a joke tag a tattoo artist friend of mine made years ago that reads “Satan is my co-pilot”. Sure, I get that it’s rude and gets under people’s skin but I’m an old punk rocker so I’m used to going against the grain and irritating people.
After he confirmed it was my car he proceeded to cuss me out, telling me how I’m fucking kid’s heads up with that Satan shit etc etc. He was obviously a Christian who had the best interest of the kids at heart.
He left without much more fanfare and after after a few more minutes of yelling and cussing. The customer I was helping just looked at me and shook his head and we laughed it off. About ten minutes later he came back in and asked me to step outside, to which I agreed.
He then went through his same tirade about how I’m fucking kids up yada yada yada. He then started trying to flinch on me asking me to swing on him and of course I just laughed at him.
It was at this point he was raging and he said someone ought to put a round in me!! I asked him if he was serious?!? He really wanted me dead over a joke tag?!? He said yes, flinched on me some more then he said HE was going to be the one to put a round in me. That’s when I said no sir and called 911.
I filed a report and got his info in case I wanted to take out a communicating threats charge or issue a restraining order etc. I’ve left it alone so far, I haven’t seen him since but he does live less than one block from my job!! When I’m at work he can look out his front door and see my car.
So this long ass story has a point, I promise!!
This incident scared me, I’ve been in many fights over the years and taken my share of blows and scars and handed out my share as well but I’m old, I’m out of shape and I’m not going to bring a knife to a gun fight.
I have a full sized glock 19 for the house and have been carrying it in my sling bag but it’s too much. I want something small like a pocket pistol.
I’ve found the ruger lcp and got to shoot one this weekend but hated the trigger pull, it was sooooo long, making it awkward to shoot and took way too long to get a sight picture then anticipate when the trigger would finally take up, break and fire. Have heard great things about the lcpII.
Anyone have experience with that gun that can offer any advice. Or can anyone suggest another comparable gun? I like the glock 42 and the bersa thunder but they’re both just a hair too big for my wants and needs.
Does anyone near Greensboro have one for sale/trade?
Also, what do you think I should do about that kid? I checked his record and he’s got a couple DWIs, carrying concealed weapon, assault inflicting serious injury, done some prison time. I’m a little worried but I’m not afraid. I def don’t want to die and do whatever I need to do to defend myself but I don’t want to antagonize him, I don’t want to fight. We all need love.[emoji3590]
