Finally got a chance to play with this today. Here's some initial thoughts and impressions.

The stock kit is lipstick on a pig, so I went ahead and added eye shadow. Magpul Pro sights. Also some silly Larue index clips just for funsies.

Don't have a lot of distance at this particular range, but you're not going to be ringing steel at 500 yards with a 9mm carbine.

Cheap ammo used.

Sighting in, playing around, mostly standing from the shoulder.

Off a proper rest after 200 rounds with no break but loading mags. So, it's not inaccurate, and the stock doesn't affect zero after heating up a little. This is something I wondered about because the barrel sits in a plastic collar within the stock up front. The action in this stock is also not low mileage. Say what you want about Hi Points, they work.

Some thoughts about the controls. Just like the standard HP, the action requires you really mean it when you pull back on the charging handle. It's actually easier to use the bolt hold open than try to insert and then charge with the handle. The charging handle also has a catch up front (next pic), but in the held open position, it's still not far enough back to just knock it loose with an HK slap. You need to drop it and pull it back a bit farther.
The mag release is a push forward design, and works great. I had my doubts just trying it at home, but once you're shooting, it's intuitive, and works without issue.
The safety is an afterthought, and feels unnecessary. It's a "wheel" of sorts that is pushed to the left towards a right handed shooter for safe, and away, to the right for fire. It's only a trigger block, not a true safety. The original safety is still accessible, but not easy to activate because it's sitting below your cheek (two pics down). It's not intuitive, and I activated it on accident once during firing. IMHO a simple push/cross bolt type safety would have been better for the end user.
Trigger is two piece, in the vein of your Glock or M&P. Long take up before resistance and then positive trigger pull. It's not very different from the stock trigger other than the take up. After shooting it a while, I didn't even notice it. It's not a bad trigger for a bullpup. Like similar triggers, if you were to try to pull from the bottom of the trigger rather than the curve, it wouldn't move back. something you could do if you were trying to get your finger on the bang switch and pull it fast.
The front take down slide you see drops the front lower picatinny rail and allows the upper shell to come off.
The rear take down along with a second farther back allow you to remove the pins that hold the action in the lower. This set up actually uses the original take down pins from the Hi Point.

Original safety in the fire position. Behind it you can see the 2nd take down button.

The charging handle can be moved easily to the other side if you're wrong handed or used to an AK. If you are left handed, the kit includes a shell deflector to shoot it left handed. Can't say how well this works, I don't plan on trying it out.

Last shots of the day.

Conclusions:
This stock feels well made, and most of the controls and intuitive and easy to use. It's worlds better than the original stock, and certainly better than the wannabe CX4 stock I took this action out of.

Field stripping is no longer a complicated affair that requires a special tool and handful of hex keys

Not a single malfunction other than accidentally activating the safety once. Safety sucks.

Minor thing, but having the port where it is, your forearm will be dirty after several boxes of ammo.

Fun to shoot, great ergonomics. I think it's worth the price of admission.

There have been some rumors about HTA making an insert and double stack mags for this stock. The collar the mag funnels into could be easily replaced. I hope they do, because it will take this thing from "pretty cool" to "completely rad".

Told the wife this bullpup kit is what I wanted for Christmas. Already have 2 Hi-Point carbines.....one of the older ones and one of the newer ones.

Added a muzzle brake and took it out to the range today with an AR I just built and another rifle. Shot this more than the other two combined. Whatever else it is, it's a lot of fun. Shot about a 4 inch group at 50 yards offhand with irons.
