Hudson disappeared in a puff of smoke?

Grabagun has them at $799 with one mag, now. Their distributor must have raised the price.

Y'all still have Studebakers for every day drivers also? I just don't get this whole H9 thing. Really to me reeks of a crowdfunding gone wrong.

I think I have an old Bultaco motorcycle repair manual around somewhere if anyone is interested

I just like off-the-wall and/or uncommon guns and stuff. Always have and now make a living off it. I figure there will be a couple people like me who will buy a Hudson and help mine be cheaper. It will be interesting to see if any pop up at shows in the coming weeks.

I’ll shoot and carry my Hudson occasionally if I like it well enough. I hope someone gets their parts who will put them on the market so I can buy some spares.

I suppose we might also see someone buy them out in the bankruptcy and start building the guns again. They won’t have all the R&D costs to have to work into the price that Hudson did.

Wow! We were lucky to buy one of these yesterday for $599... GrabaGun has already raised the price up to $799.

They must have gotten a lot more interest than they were expecting and decided to up the price to milk the last few sales as long as possible.

I'm feeling better and better about this decision!

@CDR_Glock , you said you wouldn't pay $599 for one... How do you feel about $799?

Haha

I wouldn’t buy a gun that I cannot get spare parts to fix it. Otherwise it could be an expensive paperweight.

That is a very good response...

I too hope that another company will start making parts, or buy the rights to make more H9s.

But, I don't intend to break mine. I'll just put it straight into the safe for a few years and see what happens.

Remember Dan Wesson was just a bunch of boxes of pieces and parts in a warehouse after two bankruptcies when Bob Serva bought them in 1995.

Hudson is claiming to have less than $50k in assets... But I bet they have a bunch of NICE boats, cars, houses, motorcycles, guns, etc. I wonder if they will have to sell all the fancy stuff they bought with the money, in an attempt to pay back the $50 MILLION they owe...

Not if they were smart when they formed the company.

Forgotten weapons just released another vid about Hudson filing bankruptcy. I bet that's why they raised the price. I'm sure that video generated some sales.

Just got my shipping notice. As I expected, it is drop shipping from RSR. RSR must have raised their prices after we posted last night, just like my distributor did. I don't have an account with RSR, so I can only guess.

I'd be interested in that Bultaco repair manual :)

That sounds like some canadian thing to do.

When I picked it up, I told the guy at the gun store that I'm going to put it in the safe and forget about it for a few years.

He opened the box and pointed at the rubber material that holds the pistol securely inside. It looks like thick, black neoprene rubber.

He told me that I should not store the gun in the box for long periods of time because the rubber contains formaldehyde and, over time, it will eat away at the coating on the pistol, causing it to rust.

You guys think there is any truth to his statement?

My H9 arrived today. I already picked it up. I'm very happy with it!

And, the description was wrong... It came with all 3 mags. Not just one...

Very happy so far...

Cool! Mine came today, too. Haven’t opened the package so I don’t know about the mags. You gave me hope, though!

In the past week Hudson Manufacturing’s bankruptcy filings became public. KE Arms LLC is listed as a creditor in these documents. As this is now in the public sphere, we feel it is now appropriate to discuss this publicly.

KE Arms manufactured the bulk of the slides for Hudson H9s. We were selected to produce these parts by Hudson because of our experience manufacturing pistol slides for a variety of OEM clients, and our ability to ramp up production. At one point we were delivering 400 H9 slides per week to Hudson Manufacturing. We also developed and prototyped the H9A frame.

The last payment we received from Hudson was in July of 2018. Between delivered product, inventory on hand, and development fees we are owed in the upwards of seven figure range.

We are currently exploring market demand for the slides and alloy frames (made from 7075 billet) we have on hand, and manufacturing new small parts. We want to recover our costs, and help existing owners of H9s that currently have nowhere to turn for service and support. Like those who have sent in guns months ago to Hudson for service and heard nothing back, we also have not had communication with Hudson in months.

If you’re interested in slides, frames, and parts for the H9 Pistol. Please comment here or e-mail [email protected]

I believe these alloy frames they speak of would be for gen 2 H9s?
Not sure. I knew they had announced a gen 2 with an alloy frame, but I don't know if they ever shipped any.

I just sent an email to the address linked above. I've inquired about buying a spare parts kit, etc. I'll let you all know what they say when they reply.

Thanks for the post @Bunsen

The compensator shown on a Hudson in that Facebook post looks an awful lot like the one posted about here:

https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.com/index.php?threads/texas-black-rifle-comany.41691/#post-720427

I wonder if the two companies, Hudson and Texas Black Rifle Company, were related?

I just received the following email in reply... It looks like an automated reply...

We have been inundated with questions. So we need to clarify a few things.

1) We manufactured slides and frames.

2) We do know who the other vendors on the other parts are. We
are in talks with a number of them.

3) We do not have for sale or intend to sell complete firearms.

4) If/when items are available for sale we will post here and send out press releases. Currently we are assessing market interest and seeing what parts people will need.

Please be patient as we cannot respond to every email at this time

I got the same one.

It’s hard to say for sure, but I don’t that’s a TBRCi comp, it could be but those holes on top look a little different.

And to Hudson and TBRCi being related, even though they were both Texas companies, I don’t think they were. TBRCi has been around for a lot longer than Hudson and I listened to a podcast awhile back from the guy who started Hudson and Didn’t hear anything about them being related.

Gotcha. Was just wondering if TBRC might have been getting stuff from that same supplier and, with the timing being similar, if there was any link between Hudson and TBRC. Not that it matters either way.

Latest from KE Arms:

Thank you for reaching out to us with your interest in parts and support for the Hudson H9 pistol.

Since our announcement a number of other parties have come forward with the desire to help the H9 community. We are currently in discussions with multiple manufacturers and looking at different sales and distribution options for the existing H9 component inventory. We will keep you informed as we know more.

We understand the desire to have more information and to get your firearms operational again, please be patient. The first court appearance for the Hudson bankruptcy case is scheduled for April 18th. We believe waiting until after this hearing before moving forward with anything is the current best course of action.

Regards,

KE Arms
