Im putting together an 18" Savage 10t-sr 308 to hopefully take deer hunting next year. For evil black rifles I always use a Blue Force Gear sling. However, every other type of sling for shotguns etc has ended up on a shelf. Any recommendations for a bolt gun, or would a padded BFG work best on those too? Thanks!

I am using a Magpul MS1. You can set it up to shoot supported similar to the 1907 military slings.

I've done away with my slings on hunting rifles. They're too much trouble in the stand.

It is nothing fancy but I like this sling. Granted I have not used it to shoot but it has been very comfortable hiking and stalking deer in the foot hills.

I forgot about the MS1. Looks like they make a padded version also that's very nice.

After playing around with all sorts of "slings" I've gone to mostly using old fashioned leather 1907 slings. I'd put them on my AR's too, but the magpul stocks don't have their sling swivels pointed in the right direction.
