I was recently looking a red dot for my AR. I did tons of research online and watching videos. I had a budget so some of the higher end models were out of the question. If you're looking a good red dot for less than $200...I think this is a good choice.

This video was a darn good review and torture test of it:

And this kinda put the nail in the coffin and made my decision more confirmed.

Got a chance to shoot with it this evening and sight it in...what a pleasure it is. Comes with a low profile mount and a absolute co-witness that works good with the Magpul rear and A2 front.

Thanks for sharing, I never knew Sig had a No BS lifetime warranty, thought it was just Vortex (out of the lower end red dot guys).

I have 2: one on my Stribog SBR, and one on an AR. They're right there with Vortex, maybe better for the price range.

I have both Sigs and Vortex and it depends on the application as to which one I use. Vortex pistol red dots are for shit! Their regular scopes and rifle red dots are fairly decent. I have a number of both.

A buddy bought one from PSA earlier this year for his AR. We took it to PHA, zero'd, and shot maybe 200 rounds through it. Held zero with no issues, and he's put probably another 500 or so rounds through it since, and still dead on. Good little optic for the money for sure.

I've sent a Sig scope back to them for repair. Free shipping and got it back like four days later. Can't complain. I've also called them about getting a replacement part for one that was lost. No hassle, part was shipped for free.

I've got one and it's one of the better red dots on the market for under $250 easily. Holosun makes it's twin now but you'll pay more for it. I'd rather have the Sig.

I believe Holosun makes the Sig Romeo 5. That is the scuttlebutt.

romeo5 is now my go-to recommendation
Once I buy a few swampfox that might change, but romeo5 for now.
it used to be sparc-ar from vortex, but shakeawake on the sig kills everything else in the price range.

I think Holosun makes more than the Romeo5. I had a Romeo 4 two years ago that I sold because it wasn't an Aimpoint. Guy I sold it to is still thrilled with it. I guess the FBI (HRT?) guys are using these now.
I've got a Romeo1 that's on a P320RX. Don't know what to make of it, the battery life is impossible to judge. My first range session with it resulted in a dead battery. Replacement battery lasted over a year. I can't trust it, so it's just a toy to me.
The Romeo6 scope has an MSRP of over $2k. I bought one on sale for less than half that as a closeout over a color change. It's awesome. It's not a Holosun, built in the LOW factory alongside Trijicon and Vortex scopes so it's not surprising it's every bit as nice as either of those would be. The trip back for work was my fault. They didn't care, they just fixed it.
Holosun is making a pistol optic that's pretty much regarded as the thing to buy if you can't buy an RMR. So it seems there's some quality to be found in their output.

I think most of their optics are sourced elsewhere and stamped with the SIG brand. I have not had any experience with them but have heard their higher end stuff is truly well-made and built like a brick craphouse.

PSA has them on sale (the Romeo 5), I just picked up one from them to play with. Thank for the suggestion.

Does this have the "shake awake" feature?

EDIT: Nevermind--a little reading got me the answer! Yes, it does have auto sleep and awake feature based on movement.

I used to have the Sparc AR and something about it just didn't feel comfortable with me.

I owned a Whiskey 5 and it was very nice when compared to some of my higher end optics. Very functional and easy to use.

I know St Petersburg police and SWAT are using them exclusively on their ARs/M4s. No other option given. I'm sure other departments and agencies are as well. Their pricing and warranty are exceptional.

I personally have a hard time trusting a $130 optic on a "battle rifle." For a range toy, sure. Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows. We're so entrenched in the concept of "you get what you pay for" though...

if you listen to the We Like Shooting podcast, you've heard the swampfox code. I'm kind of interested in trying their stuff, especially at 25% off

Never heard of either... Other than a friend on here who no longer does his, I don't listen to shooting podcasts. I don't find them interesting and there's already more great content than I can keep up with...
