I despise spiders

Looks like one. They've built numerous nests at my dad's house. Those mud tubes are a pain to remove, especially when they are built on rough brick walls.
They use to build nest all over the light bar of our ladder truck at the fire deapartment. It was tough to get them off of that.

Spider wasp according to the link above.

Bingo. We've got those too. But I haven't seen one here in quite some time. Those wasps may be able to kill one of those big fishing spiders, but it would probably take several to move one.

Used to get black widows at my place in CA. I practically bought out the Home Depot poison department weekly. Years from now that house will be declared a permanent hazardous waste site. But nobody ever got bit by a spider so it is all good.
After my summer project of building a roof over my camper, the scrap pile was pretty good size. I started burning it. Almost every piece of wood that I picked up had at least one Black Widow on it. I had to start wearing gloves. I finally said screw it and set it on fire where it was!

Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out.

While I don't know the correct name for them, the ones I call "frost spiders" are out in force. Was walking my dog last night and saw several of them with webs hanging from trees around the edge of my yard.

They're brown orb weavers, about the size of a quarter, and they usually take their webs down in the morning, and put them back up each evening.

I don't like them much because if you walk under a tree in the dark at my place, chances are you're going to end up with it on your face.

Had one build from one wall, to the other, in a trailer that I lived in.
And was in my bedroom. Right in the middle of the firkin bed!!!!!!
I woke, and sat up right into my face from a dead sleep.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I almost made another door.

I'd have had to burn the place down. Its the only way to be sure its dead.

I always liked the little jumping spiders that run around the window sills catching flies. They look up at you like a dog. Cheap entertainment, like internet forums. :)

Lol Ive always like those little jumping spiders too. If u put ur hand near them, theyll look up at it and then sometimes jump onto it. Curious friendly spiders they are.

I always found it funny how some many "bad-asses" are skeered of little critters. I know a guy that's scared of frogs and toads. I wonder how many of you gun-toting macho guys will jump up on the furniture the moment someone hollers "MOUSE"! :p

Ever been bit by a brown recluse? If not, I'll tell ya, it SUCKS. Spiders don't scare me, I would rather just spray them with fire from a good distance.

My wife was bitten by one a few years back. The ER doc gave her a cortisone shot in each of the three bites. The site still discolors when she gets cold, but the usual effect didn't happen.

The mud tubes are where they store the spiders.

Dirt dobbers do not kill the spiders, but their stings will permanently paralyze the spider and then gets stored in the mud tube for food, later on. Since spiders can go a while without eating, it keeps them alive and fresh for whenever the dobber returns to eat.

My wife has a major Arachnophobia . I'm always afraid to come home one day and find my building floor shot up.

I don't mind spiders as long as they stay outside. I can't stand their webs hanging on ceilings, furniture, lamp shades... all over the inside of the house. Our exterminator loves us. I call them to come spray if I am forced to knock down more than two webs in a week's time.
