I logged in to my desktop PC this a.m. and had an OS upgrade. Now...

I can't empty my trash can folder in Outlook. Who knows what else the good folks at MS managed to eff up. I'm sure they will push out another "update" to fix that and in the process hose up something else. MS sucks and yeah I know like Ted said, write your own OS. I don't have the patience to learn another OS at my age. Why can't Windows work?

I used to be a MS guy. Even built my own desktops for gaming. i got really tired of doing updates every time I turned the computer on.

Six years ago I switched to a Macbook Pro and have never looked back. Learning the Mac OS is a no-brainer.

Now, I will freely admit, there are somethings (like gaming) that a MS system will always be better at. But, for just everyday computer use that works with no muss-no fuss, give me a Mac. YMMV.

I have a macbook air with a cute little magnetic charger. Guess what, it no workie. The part to fix it is over $100 plus labor. I sure miss a good ol $20 Dell AC adapter that just works.

Just do a rollback and you can see if it actually the update that broke your trashcan. Or......just slick it and install fresh, that's usually what I recommend for PCs in use over a 1 year period or more. Windows 10 has fixed more old PCs for me that I can count....including my wife who refused to take the update and kept Windows 7 forever on her 8 year old lenovo laptop.

I may have that part on an old laptop.

I could be wrong, but I can't think of how those two could be related, Here's the changes that the new update made:

You sure it's not an unrelated issue you didn't notice until now?

It's back...my PC, 2 year old HP, Outlook and Spectrum mail server do not play nice. Nothing but a PITA. I have to do a lot of stuff on Gmail because of it. I get time sensitive email late all the time on Outlook and Spectrum. Anyway, looks like it fixed itself(?)

I love microsoft, windows is great.
Outlook - no thanks!
I stick with GMAIL and it never lets me down
