I have two 5/16 end mills and a router that is 1/4 inch. Can someone with a lathe turn these down? I can mail them to you with whatever you would charge me and a return envelope. I have an 80% lower that’s calling my name and two end mills laughing at me. Thanks for any help you can provide. D52E9E76-EB00-4182-9F81-BBFB7DACDFFC.png

Not saying it can't be done but you do realize how hard it would be to turn those right? You would be better off just buying a new end mill with a 1/4" shank and probably save money by the time you paid shipping both ways and someone's time/tools.

Yeah, Jon, those things are harder than Chinese arithmetic. They would be very hard to turn down, even 1/16.

It would require a tool post grinder, and take a long time.
Quite frankly It would be less costly to buy new.

or even better yet, buy a 5/16” collet and use your existing bit.
