I need some grace

Thieves broke into my Grandmother’s house this weekend. Stole a bunch of stuff. I am having a hard time with it. I am glad she wasn’t there. But I am struggling with my emotions and knowing they probably won’t catch the culprits.

Don’t waste energy on things you can’t change. I’m sure that she’s more shaken than you, put your energy into helping her. Maybe a few cameras or an alarm system makes sense.

I struggle with the same emotions. Lots of burglary victims among my friends and family.

That being said....

Being angry at the thief is like drinking poison and hoping he dies. Ain't gonna happen. Say outloud that you forgive him. It'll make you feel better.

Then get about the business of seeing to it that it won't happen again.
