Found a set of 5 BF Goodrich tires (1 new, 4 @60% tread). The date code shows a manufacture year of 2012

7 years too old? They’ve been sitting in a garage for 2 years unused. Great price, but not sure the blowout risk is worth it... thoughts?

I passed on the tires. Thanks.

Shame that they’re in great shape otherwise and have a lot of tread life. They looked slick/hard when I checked them out in Friday. My spidey senses said it was too good to be true.

.......it they have been out in the weather/sun......what they said. They will start to dry rot/harden/crack if left in the elements.
If they have been on a garaged weekend vehicle (out of the weather) ....they will last much longer.

The Sun is rough on a lotta stuff....including tires.

The tires appeared to have micro spider web cracks between the treads. I was slightly alarmed by them from the start. The small cracks coupled with the age - I passed on them. Not worth the risk with kids in the Jeep.

3 years is too old. I always check for date when buying . I ask for discounts over 1 year old and refuse to purchase over 3 years old.
