I was gonna reload my firsts this afternoon...but...

From some of the OPs questions, it may be assumed he isn't familiar with the book "The ABC's of Reloading"?

I would advise him to use HP-38/Win 231, before Titegroup. Both are good powders for .45 ACP and 9mm. Titegroup has a smaller window, and, is hotter burning. In short HP-38/231 is a more forgiving powder. Once you have your powder throw down pat, measure the powder for every 10th round. This is where most reloading errors take place.

The Hodgdon web site is my go-to source of loads, for Hodgdon powder. I use to buy their annual magazine for data, but there is no need to do this now. It's already been mentioned, more than once, use Excel to record your data.

I load 230 grain, Berry's Plated and/or Precision Delta FMJs, over 5.2 grains of HP-38 and a COL of 1.265.

For 9mm, I load 124 grain, Berry's Plated and/or Precision Delta FMJs, over 4.3 grains of HP-38 and a COL of 1.150.

Happy reloading.

Before @wolfpack65 sees your post I might suggest you go look at HER avatar. That really is her. She's a SHE and if you ever met her there is NO WAY you would ever mistake HER for a him. :)

Sex has no place in the reloading world even though the case could be looked at as female, the bullet as male, the primer as male also and I'll leave the powder to your imagination....

I must really be an old man. The sex of the OP never crossed my mind. I offer my apologies.

Haha...no one thinks to think that a forum member may be a female vs male.

Shooting & such, just like my civil engineering courses, is a male dominated environment.
But, as SSgt75, pointed out, yes, that is me in the avatar because everyone assumed me to be male....
No, not hardly. :D

I'll never forget when I met one of the members from NCGO at my first ever meet/greet.....
"You're a girl" Jaw Drop. :D

I've not read the ABC's of Reloading.
I really want a bunch of reference material, would rather learn with one of something before I venture out to more.
Haven't had a chance to give Bailey Boat a call either...may not get a chance till this weekend...

I just need a good starting point, without all the variance, and get going.
It can't be that hard.

Besides I need to get this pistol reloading learned so I can move on to loading stuff for my .308....:)

WP, if you don't already have one, get a bullet puller. I like the impact ones better than the pulling type but either will be useful shortly!:)
