Hello Friends, We will have our monthly IDPA match this Saturday, August 25th. Registration at 9 AM, Shooting Starts at 9:30. Six Stages, three squads. $20 per gun
August is National Shooting Sports Month, so to celebrate, following the match we will have hot dogs on the grill, chips, and drinks as well as some drawings and give-away items to show our appreciation for those who shoot with us each month and meet some new friends.
Let me know via post if you will be joining us for lunch.

High of 57 in Sanford in the AM. That's what I'm talking about.
I'll have a Fusion Firearms Reaction 1911 in 9mm like Ed sells there at Deep River.

I have some of the list covered....but I'm just curious about what goes on at these things.

What are you missing in the list? There should be people there that have extra stuff for just about anything if you shoot a "regular" gun


Also it's just a bunch of guys picking on @fieldgrade on why he missed the targets HAHA

But seriously its alot of fun and bring your stuff just in case.

I will be there in a camo bojangles hat tomorrow so talk to me if you can

I'm just interested in seeing what's going on, not bringing my stuff and shooting! LoL. I'm new, remember?
Anyway, it's still too hot for me to be outside, maybe in the winter....
I have a "regular" gun and 2 magazines, eyes and ears protection and not a lot of rounds. That's about it. I'm not ready for any kind of a match/competition.....

The Deep River match has a mile or more of walking the way the stages are spread out across the property, but it will be cool this morning so that's good, and most of it is in the shade. Another good one to check out would be the H20 match held on second Saturdays every month, in Dunn NC. There's always a half dozen to twenty or so new shooters and 75-100 total shooters, and the stages are all in a row together. No hiking except 120 yards between stage six and stage one.

Everybody was "new" once.
For me it was just back in March. Think I've shot 3 more matches since.
I didn't think I was "ready" either.

You "are" ready, you just don't know it yet.

It's fun. You should come to H2o like fieldgrade said.
 
@motoman247 I imagine shooting strong hand/support hand the day after sticking a screwdriver in your hand might have impacted your score. Keep it clean and dry with some Neosporin on it and you'll back to kicking my old arse in no time.

Don't be silly, you can tell me anything you want....now as to whether I'll do it or not....that's a whole other story!! LOL.
I'm in Scotland county and my situation is newbie-ish...
What's with the apology? Not necessary, I assure you. Maybe one day I'll come see what these matches are all about.
