...you might want to order it from them. I ordered some Glock sights from Bud’s over two weeks ago and they haven’t shipped, and they said it would be awhile as soon as I ordered.

In the meantime I bought another pistol, outfit it with bells, whistles ,and raccoon tails from probably eight different on-line vendors all over the country and the parts are all in, and installed.

Not sure what other problems they might be experiencing at Bud’s.

I recently had the same experience with them. I actually ordered those Ameriglo sights we were discussing @fieldgrade . Love the green/lime front sight during the day! My shooting/accuracy has improved tremendously with them.

Ordered on 03/22 and were finally delivered 04/15.

I’m not “upset" with Buds, but apparently they are the only ones experiencing this kind of shipping delay.
I ordered a part from NightHawk last night, it’s shipping today.

That’s exactly what I ordered for a G17, after putting them on two smaller Glocks.

They will be short for that length of sight radius, but I still want to try them.

I bought a shotgun for my daughter from them two weeks ago. It was at my FFL in six days.

It's all over the board right now. I'm waiting on a part from a store in state. I called them last week and they said they were swamped. That they has just gotten to the orders placed during the first week of April. Part of their issuse was they many of their orders required customization, like cerakote. But, they were trying to get the regular parts orders out quicker. One place I called for information went directly to voicemail with the message that the entire staff was on the shipping floor trying to get orders out. They never got back to me. That same place shipped an order the second day after I ordered it. Which I thought was quick.

A number of places are having the same problems. It's a crapshoot right now. I've had pretty good luck but a couple of things I ordered are now a month or more out...

Sometimes items are drop shipped vs shipping from Bud's.

I had that problem with Bud's after they moved from Paris to Lexington. And I lived 12 miles away!

I like buds when it comes to pricing, a large stock, etc, but it has always been slow shipping for me. Tack ontheslow verification for the cash price..

Might have been somewhat naive of me to post about Bud’s.
I dunno.
I’ve ordered a lot of stuff on-line during this recent unpleasantness. I just hadn’t had anybody else take so long. Guess I’m fortunate.

yeah....I've never bought anything from Bud's, ever, for various reasons but mainly their 'cash price' smacks of the same BS that people that do "cash/trade value" descrepancies in the BST or "cash/credit" at gas pumps.
And gun.deals makes their claim to being the lowest price for anything come to light as untrue. Goofy website interface too.

I am generally neutral on buds. Bought a few things where they were the cheapest with free shipping. The website is garbage though.

I have had a mix of under promising and over delivering and over promising and under delivering in the past 3 weeks, I ordered 250 pieces of 6.5 Grendel brass and the website said “expect delays up to 12-14 business days” and my brass got to me in 5 days, I ordered 3 magazines for my Shadow 2 and was told they would ship within 24 hours, 3 weeks ago, money has been taken out of my account and the order still says “pending”.

I’ve only ordered from Buds once and they were Johnny on the spot, they normally do massive volumes of online firearm business so I imaging they are indeed getting hammered, I’d personally cut them a little slack because they are normally stand up folks and I’m sure they’re honestly working their asses off right now.

Midsouth is running about 10+ days behind and lots of stuff is sold out at various vendors with no backorders or anticipated restock dates.

That happened in the last panic as well, they just don't seem to have a very efficient shipping dep.

What's the advantage of the U-notch again? Does it line up better?

U-notch has the effect of facilitating quicker target acquisition, at least for me. Plus the Dawson front sight blade on this gun is .100, and the rear square notch on it was only .110. Great for accuracy at longer distances, but I like about .020 wider rear notch than the front sight blade. So I accomplished both with a rat tail needle file.

How does the U-notch help? curious...

The best way to describe it is to look at two identical guns, except one with a rear notch that is square, and the other one U, same width notch.
Keeping in mind this is for a match blaster, so I want .020 wider rear notch, that means I can line up the sights a bit faster. The square notch with that rear width difference will look like an open barn door to my eye, while the U Notch will not, and yet they are the same width.

Wilson’s rear Battlesight is .156 wide, with I believe a .120 wide front sight blade, so that’s a .036 difference, for even more daylight on either side of the front sight blade. That makes for even faster target acquisition, but affects accuracy.

Maybe it’s an optical illusion with the U-notch. It just works better for me.

Interesting. I've seen folks use them never looked through one that I can recall...

My Talo G43 came with one. After that I was hooked. They are on all my blasters now.

Sounds somewhat similar to the peep sight phenomenon: the eye tends to find the center of a circle naturally. I may have to break out a needle file... 'cause I don't have enough projects right now... yeah.

If you have a digital caliper, be sure to measure the width of your needle file before you start. Mine is .120 which works if I have a skinny front sight blade, which in this case I did. My other sights are .120 front sight blades, which means I’d want a .140 rear U notch. I guess I could buy a file that size, but the needle files I use now are four bucks for a whole assortment from Harbor freight.

I’ve never been impressed with buds shipping even during “normal”times when paying with a CC. I know there are countless reviews on their site about how lightening fast their shipping is. Hasn’t been my experience & I have largely taken my business elsewhere.

Finally got a ship notification today, with lots if caveats and explanations for why it will still be a long time before I see the order.

Since I placed that order I bought a bed on-line after one of my kids moved out with one, six different gun parts from six different vendors on-line, an air compressor (the old Craigslist one wore out), bulk ammo, custom holster, a Stetson panama hat (yes, summer's coming and I wear stuff like that) and a dishwasher (because the old one leaks). All ordered over the innertoob.

The holster and the dishwasher were ordered last. They should be here Monday and Thursday.

The only thing rivaling the Bud’s order is the Bass Pro ammo order which is even more comical than the Bud’s order. @BigWaylon

Well, I'm doing my part to bolster the economy as well. I've still waiting in some shipping confirmations from stuff ordered a week ago. Some other stuff has moved though.
As a side note, Rock Slide out of Fuquay was fairly quick, about 7days from order to delivery.

I did not know about these guys. Thanks for the heads up.

Sights showed up.
These Ameriglos are the bomb on a G43. Hopefully not too short for the longer sight radius of a G17. They are labeled for G19/G17
We’ll see how they do at the range.
