It was a welfare check. The family had called in to have officers check on him as they believed he was suicidal. The confrontation with the officers ensued. He became more agitated and violent and continued to fire in the direction of the officers. If I am not mistaken, they ACSO, Watauga SWAT, and SBI used a robot to shoot the suspect. This is what I have been told almost word for word.
