Building an 11.5 in ar pistol and I'm stuck on what optic to use. I'm between an aimpoint t2 or trijicon mro. With the mro I plan on adding a eotech 3x magnifier. With the extra cost of the t2 I wont be able to add the eotech. The furthest I'll be shooting out to would be about 250yds.
Any input would be great. Thanks

I am not a big fan of the flip over magnifiers. The added weight and presences on the top of the receiver just feels ackward and on an AR pistol I’d guess might even be more so. As to choice between the T2 and the MRO both are great sights and personal preference would be the deciding factor. TO ME I am an Aimpoint Micro Dot style user ... mainly because it’s what I have used for years and know well but that is me and aside from that I could give no reason why I’d not buy an MRO.

+1 on skipping the magnifier. 250 yards in easily done with a red dot. The weight of the magnifier isn't worth it in my opinion. If you REALLY need the magnification then go with a 1-something scope.

Get the MRO, skip the magifier and use the savings for ammo.

The MRO will do everything the T2 will do at half the cost. I’m a huge believer in buy once, cry once but just because something is prices higher, doesn’t mean it is better and the comparison of these two optics proves that theory.

Be sure to look through an MRO in person before you buy one. I could not stand shooting with an MRO. Mine had a slight magnification that was only exaggerated by the large FOV. I couldnt shoot with both eyes open without feeling cross eyed after a training session.

I sent it back to Trijicon, and they said they put new glass in to reduce the magnification but it was still there. So it got sold.

I love the Aimpoint Micros, worth the extra to me.

Unless you're running NVG... get the H2.

If you need magnification, then get a Vortex Razor 1-6x

and skip magnifiers, just not practical
