We are smoking some ribs. They are rubbed and waiting for the smoker. I will begin simmering the sauce in the a.m.

Sides are grilled "Beer Corn" with chipolte-lime butter along with roasted red potato salad.

Corn is grilled in their husks with beer and granulated garlic.

Potato salad includes the garlic roasted potatoes, blanched snow peas and julliened red onion with sour cream/dill and red wine vinagrette.

I'm going to grill some pork chops and a few ears of corn. Maybe some slaw or something else.

Caveat, the lovely Mrs. Fieldgrade must join you.
Indeed she must. We'll actually be in Fuquay tommorow night, but I was admiring your menu, and REALY admiring the before dinner drinks.

Just burgers and dogs here. My wife's Mom is bringing this awesome sweet corn/pea/onion salad that has vinegar in it. Absolutely delicious. The recipe is from two male domestic partners that live beside her. I need to sweet talk her into giving it to me. The two guys that live beside her won't give it to me for some reason.

The Mrs. picked up another rack of ribs today, so that makes four racks now. Throw in two, two pound pork tenderloins, my homemade crock pot 'baked' beans, roasted garlic corn on the cob, and the wifes nanner puddin (no meringue lol :()
My guests have rsvp'd with potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese, mawmaw is bringing two dozen homemade fried apple pies, Aunt Ann is bringing blackberry cobbler, and my nephew and his buddy are bringing three cases of adult beverages for the community cooler.
Promises to be a feast before the big fireworks show :)

I am solo this week since my wife and kids are up North visiting relatives. So I grabbed a ribeye, some mushrooms and some cauliflower for tomorrow. Going to make some cauliflower steaks again. Easy, healthy and tastey.

Our daughter's coming over for dinner which gave me the perfect excuse to purchase every kind of tube steak know to man. She and I love them and just the thought of it turns my wife's stomach. So, I bought a chicken breast for the wife along with Nathan's hot dogs, brats, fresh Italian sausage and something I'd never heard of before but couldn't resist, "Gilbert's Craft Sausages - Aloha Chicken Sausage with pineapple ginger and brown sugar" for we two. Also picked up some fresh poppy seed and sesame seed rolls for the "steaks" and a fresh bun for my wife's chicken breast. I've got countless kinds of trick mustard, banana and chipotle peppers, red onion and several kinds of relish.

All will go on the bbq and my daughter and I should be in the hospital by this time tomorrow!

It'll just be me, myself, and I here at my place tomorrow.

Gonna make a couple or 3 burgers for the grill, a chicken breast, & maybe a pork chop too.

Grilled zucchini, ear of corn, fresh sliced German Johnson mater, green beans or baked beans, & maybe roast some tater slices.

Will be enough food to get me to the weekend.

So many directions we could go with this.

But we'll go with the recipe for now.

Now wait just a minute here. I don't think I'm the only one that just jumped right into it.:D

Yea, but he mentioned his daughter so we had to just let that one lie. Lol

The Harris Teeter up 55 had these bad boys on sale the other day.

The wife and I are driving down to St. Paul's to visit some old friends for the day so whatever they're fixing, as long as it isn't red meat for me. This Alpha Gal stinks BIG time.

Recipe or it didn't happen!
get ready... it is too easy

2 oz japaleno infused tequila
1 oz simple syrup
6oz frozen watermellon

all this into the blender and pulse to your desired consistency. pour into a glass of some kind and garnish with mint leaves. I sometimes rim the glasses with a mix of chipotle powder, salt and lime zest.

Wolfie...I'm pretty sure even I can't finish all the stuff I bought. There'll surely be a "steak" or two available in case you run out of rations.

"We'll leave the light on for ya."

Hamburgers and Hot Dogs here. Cooked over charcoal of course with some friends coming over since it seams like that's what you should do on the 4th of July.

There may be fireworks when it gets dark. They might leave the ground.

Grill- Smoked Salmon steaks , Garden fresh Tomato/Cucumber salad, deviled eggs, and a few Stela Artois while cooking.

Dinner will be hamburgers, homemade potato salad, and corn grilled in the husk. After we grill the corn we put a light coating of mayonnaise on them and then sprinkle romano cheese on them. ;)

Picked up a couple NY strips at Harris Teeter yesterday. Normally more of a ribeye person, but these looked perfect. Left them uncovered last night which gives a little boost in flavor. Gonna have some sweet potatoes, salad, and homemade bread with it.

My sister sent me a large package from Omaha Steaks for my birthday yesterday. Decent meat but damn the cuts couldn't be any smaller!

Today we are looking at filet mignon, lobster tails, asparagus and after that I don't really care as long as there is a beer in my hand ;)

What was that address again?

We did dinner here and have leftovers for supper. The wife and I made a macaroni salad this morning, I did the cutting and chopping and she did the assembly.

I grilled a few ears of corn. Then I put on some thick pork chops and some hot Italian sausage, how's that for a combo? pc1.jpg
I brushed on a little olive oil on the chops and sprinkled on some Rufus Teague rub. I cooked them indirect and then did a reverse sear on them. They turned out great, juicy and flavorful.

Then, I really stepped out of my comfort zone, I decided to try some Chocolate Walnut brownies. I didn't have very high hopes but they turned out very good.

^^ And you couldn't let your friends know about this, huh?
I didn't think you were even on this side of Big Muddy.
