I think that's about right??? My neighbor has had a drainage issue for the 25 years I have lived here and last Tuesday he decided, out of the blue that he was going to install a drain line under the driveway so it wouldn't keep flowing over the concrete.

He began with his pressure washer and an 8' extension pole attachment. The driveway he's trying to go under has a slope from the high side to the low side of about a foot so he can't get an absolute straight shot with the extension pressure pole. We are on city water and it's NOT the cheap kind!! His pressure washer shows a consumption of 2.5 gallons per minute so it's not very water stingy. At one point he had a "stream" of water running through the yard about 3' wide and an inch deep for hours on end as he tried to water jet his way to glory.

He worked at this all day (7 to 8 hours) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and began again this morning at 0900 sharp. 6 (six) straight days of blasting water under the driveway with no success!! My only question is how long will he continue to do this and get no where for his efforts?? 7, 8, 9, 10 days?? What's your bet??
 
I hope you can get some pics of him when he gets his water bill.

His doesn't have any rocks to deal with, all backfill..... This is the way I have done it every time I've needed to accomplish the same thing, easy peasy...

The city will probably send a special truck to pick up the payment....
 
We’ve all gotten into a project and been too stubborn to quit, but he’s probably cutting himself a nice hollow under that drive.

Directional boring equipment is expensive, but not compared to 40 hours work, a bajillion gallons of water, and the concrete repair.
 
After reading this, the only thing that comes to mind are the three S’s
 
Only thing new that’s gonna happen is his concrete is gonna collapse in the void he made. Then he’ll call the local municipality and ask them to fix it and they’ll promptly tell him to go fist himself.

I know that’s what they’ll say cause this is the kinda work I do, and I’ve heard me say it

This is so far away from the ROW there's no way he could even think down that road.... I could stand corrected though....

Oh ok. I just assumed it was in the right of way
