Just bought an CZ Scropion Evo S1 Pistol and I am thinking to the future about a supressor. Thoughts on an Intergrated supressor vs Can supressor. GO !!!!!!

Very few reasons I’d ever choose an integral.

I do want one for a 10/22...but I’d also have to buy my first 10/22. :D

Curious as to what your reasons are for wanting to do it with a Scorpion? I’m not sure what the barrel options are for that firearm.

While it seems my cans stay with one firearm 95% of the time BUT I like being able to move from one host to another. I like Waylon do want one integral ... but mine would be for my CZ 455. Back when the HPA or whatever other titles they attached it to then I would have been all over quite a few integrals but now with what the NFA future looks I’m not big on tying one suppressor exclusively to one firearm 100% of the time.

ETA ... integrals can be a little more trouble for cleaning and maintenance ... just depends on construction.

I do think I’d choose an integral over a pin & weld, for whatever that’s worth.

Bring that sucker over here, together with a few hundred rounds of ammo, and I’ll give you my considered opinion.*

* Consider that I’ve never owned a suppressor. :D

Integrated would keep it the same length etc. .... Cost wise its about the same. Cool factor would be +++++++++ :D

No way I'd spend that kind of money to have a Scorpion carbine barrel chopped and a can pinned just to avoid a second $200 SBR tax stamp. The barrel chop and pin would cost that and then you have a can that only lives on 1 host, is harder to clean, and may not be warrantied.

Terrible idea IMO, especially with E-file Form 1 times being so short right now.

Edit: you have the pistol. So you're saying you'd buy a can, wait for the form 4 to transfer, then have it permanently attached to the barrel to make it over 16" so then you could legally put a stock on it with an SBR? So you've got to buy an 8" long can and one that can't be disassembled otherwise the pin job won't matter because the shortest config is under 16". There's no way I'd even start down that path.

Why not just get a shorter barrel under the handguard, throw a tri lug mount on it, and then put the can on as needed?

I really like integrated suppressors. I think they are cool and can give a good low key setup. Particularly on 22s and some hunting rigs. But, I also like really strange things like suppressed muzzle loaders.

That being said if you don't already have suppressors get a regular can . Integrated are neat, but really specialized. If you are looking for something new. Sure whatever floats your boat.

Integrals make sense when the barrel is ported imo. For the price of innovative arms conversion it’s not much more than a top tier 9mm can.

An integral setup for your first or only suppressor makes less sense.

I have the Innovative Arms integral on a 10/22 takedown model. It's super quiet with standard velocity and has the ported barrel so you can use
high velocity ammo.
Its short, lightweight. and packs neatly in the carry bag along with an SR22 with its own Ruger Silent 22 can.
I sent them my barrel and they did the conversion, so cost was not much more than a dedicated screw on can.
This is probably the wife's favorite rifle. Squirrels don't stand a chance.
