Make sure you have them check your rear axles, struts etc when it goes in the shop. The Fiesta's rear end is made out of Tinker Toys.

    I know this from experience.

If you wake up tomorrow, you'll probably have whiplash and other injuries - see if you can find out what agency was chasing them and if they were breaking any of their own policies.
For real though, did you get twisted? impacts that make you twist put severe strain on your brainstem to the point where some people get internally decapitated. take care man, if anything's not right, get checked out.

I saw a F150 turn into an intersection right in front of a new Volvo that was in the lane next to me, running 40-45 mph. Volvo came totally off the ground, broke the lower control arm off the car. Not a single air bag went off.

I am glad you are OK. That's some crazy sh88T. You will be surprised how much that damage will cost to repair. If you want it to be totaled it can be totaled. I would ask for the bumper, quarter panel and door to be replaced. If they don't they will never fit right. There will be gaps. If the axle is involved at all its toast.

    Start van shopping. ;)

    No...but....

A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER should know the law and expect citizens to follow the law...as most compentant drivers know the laws of the road.
Having said that...if the cop went left.... and @HMP went left and was tagged...it's @HMP 's fault....

But in this case... @HMP was in the right and should be awarded damages. Cop could have stopped pursuit at any time. Was the guy that much of a danger to the general public that he had to be apprehended right then involving a high speed pursuit putting the general public's life in jeopardy???

Another Glad you're ok as well as you are! Sorry about the Fiesta, hope it gets better soon.

And get checked out by a doc. Worst they can say is that you're ok!

Get checked out, dude. Neck/back & head injuries are not to be trifled with. That mess is cumulative & NOT fun. At least get an exam & get something documented.

Based on my brush up I’d say around $5k in damage there. Bodywork has gotten to be more replace than fix. And if they blend the paint for the panels. If you get a low ball estimate ask for a second.

Damn glad you are as well as you think you are. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. When it wears off the stiffness and soreness will follow. Definitely get checked out at least. Get several estimates for repair of the party car. You’d be surprised what it takes to total a vehicle. Btw no offense, but you are not a doctor or a body man. Let a professional have a look.

I slept great, had two alarms set last night, one at midnight, one at 3. I slept well.

What can a doctor check for, exactly. No bumps bruises or scrapes.
I thought about it last night, and this morning, maybe I should get checked out just in case.

@wvsig and @chiefjason 's posts have me bummed. Man, just paid this off about 10 months ago or so, really liked not having a car payment, so I hope they're wrong. But, as stated, I want it fixed right. I took care of that car since buying. Have receipt for every oil change and the one issue it had (power steering).

Did you get a police report? Contact the shift supervisor for that agency and tell them they need to take care of running into your car. They should have a body shop to recommend. Appraisals are usually free but might take a while. The agency should take care of this. If not, I would start buy turning your insurance agency loose on them to force the issue. Then a call to a lawyer might not hurt either. You should not have to be paying for this. When I was hit by a cop it really didn't hurt the truck so I settled for a check and moved on. But the way I was hit, and the cop left the scene, I was not letting them off the hook. He would have forced most drivers into an accident with what he did to me.

this. Our police force gives the body shop a lot of money. And they go through cars like we go through toilet paper

I was in a bad rear end collision back in Feb. 2006 and only had "soft tissue injuries". To this day, I'm still feeling the results of that wreck. My wife said that my personality changed after the wreck and I have never been the same since, mentally or physically.

My step-mother had neurological damage from a car wreck. Even developed "chemical sensitivity syndrome." Either that or it is was just another symptom of her hypochondria.:);):D

    Yep, yep, yep.

It's a plain-jane F250SD XLT gasser, not fancy. I need to tow a fully-loaded 14' dump trailer (work), not often or far, but I gotta do it.

I am glad it wasn't worse for you, and also hope you get checked out. My wife has had a moderate concussion from a seemingly minor accident, and it affected her more than you would think for severy weeks.

Take care and I hope you can get it repaired right soon and then move up to your van!

Close call. A very good friend of mine from high school was a state trooper in SC. He was in a high speed chase and made a move similar to what you describe and instead of clipping the quarter panel he ran into the back of the car at about 90 plus mph, killing him and the innocent person in the car on impact.

She is a character. You should see the pile of medicines and supplements she takes.
    She is also borderline agoraphobic.
But she is generally nuts. If I could is add her to the NICS prohibited person list.

Dang dude. Glad your ok. For sure get checked out. Especially since you had a headache after.

The brain is supremely tough, yet so very fragile. Sitting in your skull encapsulated in shock absorbing fluid though it is. Just the right shot can cause it to contact your skull and cause issues.

It is super weird/interesting how a solid shot results in nothing but a light, grazing blow at just the right angle can cause serious issues...

I called an urgent care place today around noon, my headache was still bothering me (still is, actually).
They said to go to hospital where they could handle CT scans etc
I went to Novant in Thomasville, they did a CT scan and said no swelling or bleeding of brain, and if I still had headaches on MOnday to contact/go back

It's just a droning headache, not sharp pains, just steady frontal area
