Drill bit. If the pin is hollow wedge it in and twist it while pulling out. If solid drill a hole through the middle and take a screw and "tap" it before pulling out.

Maybe. Maybe, bend the tip of a sewing needle into a tiny hook. Using pliers, slide the hook in sideways on the outside of what's left of the plug, hook it, pull it out.

IPad repairs quickly exceed the cost of a new one.

No point in taking it apart, it won't make extraction any easier.... unless you have to replace the whole port, then see above.

Bad to have magnets close to spinning hard drives.

Is it ok. to have that strong a magnet close to the Ipad? Serious question here cause I thought that it was a no no to bring one close to a computer or is that just an old wives tale.
It’s ok.

Ipads use solid state drives, not spinning disks, so should be unaffected. Do not do that on a desktop with spinning drives.

Well I got it out with a dental pick but the cord of course was broke and now the car charger cord will not charge it. It gets worse. The car cord is broken also. I was in Kansas for a week and the IPhone will not hold a charge more than a couple hours which sucks when you put your boarding ticket passes in the phone wallet app. Glad I printed them at a kiosk for the trip. My IPhone is a 6 which goes back to maybe 2014. I have put two batteries in the phone from the day I bought it.

I charged the IPad with a 20w charger for 5 hours and it made it to 11%. I don’t know if it now makes good contact In the charge port. I have not looked at the attachment above due to access. I guess tomorrow is phone upgrade day. I am with Sprint/T-Mobile. Hopefully there will be some deals on a trade in like last year or I will buy down a couple years.

New Iphone12 today. Painful but had to do it. Only trade allowance was for it and no other. Next up is read the link above and find a way to fix the charging port on the Ipad. Thanks for everyone’s help so far. I entered a new era with the phone.

PS- T-Mobile would not allow me to pay cash for the phone. Had to be 24 payments to get $216 for my 2014 phone. I did have to pay the sales tax upfront.
