Hey all, I am using rescue tape on my Sig P365 X Macro grip.
Why do that you might ask.
I have a problem when I shoot the Sig alot that the skin on my palm gets irritated.
So since rescue tape is silicone, has no adhesive but bonds to itself readily, and actually gives me a better grip that without it, I am trying it out wrapped on the grip.
It doesn't look bad, but looks isn't what I am going for.

Has anyone here ever tried rescue tape as a grip enhancer on a handgun?

FWIW, I run a Hogue rubber grip on the XL frame. I normally hate any grip add-ons, but the Hogue is perfect for me, and I've been daily driving it for several years now.

My old skin doesn't like the Sig 365p X Macro grip texture. I've been reading about "Goon Tape". Some Sig users recommend "Hockey Tape". Someone even suggest a light sanding. I would be concerned that sanding would mar the vertical lines of the grip.

@Alpha007 Thanks for the "Rescue Tape" suggestion.

I also have to recommend Talon grip tape, the rubber version is my preference. I used to compete in IDPA/IPSC style local matches with no problems. I don't have any experience with rescue tape, so I can't compare performance with that.

As you can see from my photo's, Rescue Tape, which is a silicon tape, is smooth. It is not slick though. When I hold the pistol that has it on the grip, it does not move any.
One layer of tape is enough. And since it has no adhesive, if you decide to remove it, there is no residue left on the grips.

I run goon tape on my 365, I’ve used hockey tape, bandage tape, etc and for its intended use, GT gets my vote. If you ever get over my way, I have a bunch and can get you wrapped up.

Works good for holding down light cables on an AR too.
