"IT" Remake

It's genuinely creepy at times...like, multiple times I felt uneasy. Thats awesome!

Man I still have not watched this!! It is back on my radar now though. I love the old Pennywise I hope the new one does not disappoint.

Watched this a couple weeks ago. I'd never seen the first one or read the book...but it was definitely weird and creepy.

I watched this a few weeks ago. I just didn’t find it that scary at all. I laughed a lot...don’t know what that says about me...Anyway, I still liked the movie and thought it was well done. I’ll definitely catch part 2.

Sidebar about the book-So I read googled some reviews after watching the movie and found some references to a part of the book that seems completely screwed up. The articles I read said that most were very happy to drop the group orgy from the movie. Evidently Mr. King put the book pre-teens in quite a naughty situation after they confronted IT for the first time...

I've read the book and I don't remember an orgy scene. Of course it was 25 years ago when I read it so who knows. But I for sure don't remember having a weird boner reading it which is odd of there was an orgy.

Whether orgy is the correct term, or not, there is a scene in the book in which the early pubescent Beverly has sex, in turn, with each of her male friends. Whilst not to defend the scene or King's inclusion of it or anything of the sort, I do think that he was trying to incorporate (literally) the most powerful physical expression that binds human beings (far from the sex-as-pleasure-utility perspective). In terms of the story, this was the means Beverly used to overcome the group's fear so that they could access a sort of collective power in order to escape the sewers in which they were lost.

I didn't find the movie scary as a film per se: the book ... if one can allow oneself to be brought into the story ... sheesh. Ben on that bridge in the twilight of a freezing Maine day seeing the mummy. Of course, I'm just old enough such that my childhood was still very much akin to the time-frame in the books.

Ok. Started watching this at 9 tonight figuring I’d shut it off and go to bed at 10. Mistaaaaaaaaaake.

@Chdamn's Wife hates horror movies and really hates clowns but she hung in there. We watched the whole thing and it was creepy as hell. It fired on all cylinders of creepiness. From paintings coming to life to sadistic clowns to disjointed movement.

Several times I got chilled which isn’t easy to do.

I give it 5 out of 5 Stars.

There's a great line in the book regarding the eternal appeal of tension in fairy-tales:

Would the monster be bested? Or, would it feed?

Yeah dude, like I said above - it was truly creepy at many points!

So the jester sang for the king and queen ...

ok y'all twisted my arm. I am a huge SK fan......but I was 'just sayin' no' to any remake of my childhood faves. If they remake 'Christine' with a Prius, I'm out.
