Hi everyone. I’m getting my CCW and I’ve had this MP 9c (1.0 version) for several years. I always figure it’d be the tool I’d use for conceal carry. When I bought it I also bought the super tuck by crossbreed but I confess I never ended up applying for my license until recently. But in the back of my mind I was confident I could get it to work for me.

As it stands I’m 5’11” and 175 and prefer a 4 o’clock carry. No matter what I do, adjusting cant, using the magazine without extension I can’t get the butt of the gun to not print. It just doesn’t tuck to my body. I’m considering trying to sell for the shield plus but I’m wondering if this is just user error. Or maybe there is an obvious holster out there to try…looking for some advice at this point before pulling the trigger on a new gun.

What I carry OWB prints like a son of a gun, on both sides of my waist. I’ve NEVER noticed anyone paying attention.

You are strapping a large piece of metal and plastic to your waist. It will not just disappear. And most people won’t notice. You are worrying more than anyone else.

I suppose it could be concern on my end. The trouble I have is even when standing straight and with baggy shirts on, they catch in the end of the gun and I can’t bend at all at the waist. I was hoping to find a way to keep the bottom tucked in more and figured a different holster could help and, at worst, a smaller gun like the shield/shield plus/ 365xl etc

Asking strangers for holster recommendations is like asking strangers for shoe recommendations. What works for me won’t work for you. You’ll sometimes end up with a drawer full of holsters you don’t like to find “the one”. Perfect example I can carry a double stack 1911 10mm in a super tuck at 4 o’clock and it just disappears. I didn’t adjust anything on the holster it just works. I am I little bit taller and a few pounds lighter than you but we’re pretty close there not huge difference. It’s extremely subjective from person to person.

Yeah that’s fair. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on this subject in the last week and got the feeling this could be the answer I would get. I was maybe naively hoping that someone out there had a simple solution. I don’t necessarily have the funds to have a drawer full of holsters nor do I have the funds to buy multiple firearms at this time. It’s one of the reasons I’m considering trying to trade in or sell what I have since the shield plus is definitely smaller but has the same capacity as the 9c I have.

If I could only have one holster for the rest of my life it would be this one. I can carry appendix or 4 o’clock with any handgun and it just works. They’re cheap the only downside is you need to remove the holster from your belt to reholster. Give one a shot and see if you like it. image.jpg0CFC4137-4D5A-4FE7-A0F9-B39185D07B57.jpeg

Since the Shields are among the best selling handguns of all time, perhaps you can find someone to loan you one to “test wear”?

I've long given up worrying about printing. People walk around with their heads up their rear ends and the last thing they are doing is looking at my waist if there is a bulge there. And if they are looking there I'm sure they are just admiring my manly figure. 🤣🤣

Rocketman Lowrider is literally the only IWB I even own now. I've tried oodles of others, it's the only one to work for me. I've carried a 9C in one also, it did great for me.
And, yes, you are the only one looking. Your choice of cover shirt and grip material does make a difference in how "grabby" it is. A soft rubber grip will catch on a shirt in a heartbeat.
