Yes I did meet you and your dad there.Dad and I use to go to this one all the time. Unfortunately, it got to be an aggravation, so we just went to the one at the fairgrounds. We really don't even go to that one much. It's getting a little too far away to see the same stuff and people.
You met us at Charlotte last year, I think. I took him the because we hadn't been to that show in many, many years, but it was his birthday and I wanted to take him to pineville tavern.
I like this show because it;s not the normal group of dealers.I was going to go today, but got lazy. I will go tomorrow.

well, I didnt make it today either... I just wasnt motivated to see anything there... I will get to the show in April... maybe...I like this show because it;s not the normal group of dealers.
More interesting things to see.
Mid-South is there this time with a about 5 tables of NICE shotguns and rifles.

As for the Mike Kent Shows... I am done with them... every one of his shows now has a $5 parking fee... combine that with the $8 entry fee, and that is $13 for me to go in and walk around for a couple hours... no thanks...
The SC Arms Dealers shows at Jamil continue to have free parking... I will continue to patronize them.... but in all honesty, these gun shows are growing old to me.... there are few actual deals to be found... most vendors charge more than the online retailers, and as much as the brick and mortar stores... its nice to go out and look at all the candy in one location from time to time, but I buy less and less each time I go.

Mike Kent told me that personally about a year ago or so... I dont have any reason to not believe him.The parking fee is charged by the venue, not the promoter. Mike Kent doesn’t get a dime of that. If the SCACA show was at the fairgrounds, you’d pay for parking at it, too.

It is curious, however, that the $5 parking fee is charged at EVERY Mike Kent venue in both NC and SC, whereas, parking is free at SC Arms Dealers Assn, shows.
I am not faulting Mike, per se...Parking is free at Mike’s Asheville, NC Show.
You’ll also notice that SCACA and Mike Kent don’t share venues. Again, the venue charges parking or doesn’t. It is not in a promoter’s interest to charge for parking.
The NC state fairground just started charging a $1 per ticket “facility fee” at the Raleigh gun show. The promoter was furious about this, as it makes people less likely to come to the show.

$5 parking charges are required at Myrtle Beach, Ladson, Florence, and Columbia. His show does not charge for parking in Asheville, his only NC location. Then again, it looks like NO ONE charges for parking in NC.
well, its thievery, I tell ya... just like taxes, its thievery...Greensboro does. And Raleigh shows now have a $1 “facility fee” tacked on by the fairgrounds.
It is the venue that charges for parking, ostensibly to pay for their parking lot and parking staff. It is not the event promoter.
