Anyone have any experience with this particular tool?
Seems to have a pretty good following and positive comments on some forums he frequents.
Like the fact that it's not got a bunch of different blocks and such and seems that it would work on pretty much any slide.

I used one I borrowed on two sets of pistol sights. It performs as advertised and is very sturdy. I was going to buy one but the guy who makes them got a little behind on orders a few months ago due to health issues. He was up front about it on his website, so if you are ordering a new one directly from him just be sure check his website to avoid any surprise delay.

Apparently he had some health problems, retired and this is now his full-time job, says the lead time is 10-14 days but not in a rush.

Probably going to pick one up.

Here are some pro-tips I learned that might already be covered in his directions (which I may or may not have read :p)

Put a drop of oil on the threads of the pusher so it won't bind if you have to really crank down on it hard to push out stubborn sights.

The more tape you use to hold pusher spacers in place the less curse words you'll use. It's a universal sight pusher so you have to get these pieces and parts situated to suit you.

Tape up the pistol slide, top, bottom, and sides, with blue masking tape on any surface that might come in contact with the pusher. This protects the slide while you are fumbling with it and the pusher to get the slide positioned in the pusher.

I also tape up the business ends of the pusher.

I'm not sure what comes with the new pusher, but cut up an old credit card, or similar, and tape pieces onto the end of the pusher, or onto the slide where the pusher will be positioned.

Go slow. Position and reposition as necessary. Patience is the key to not boogering up your slide or sights.

Great tips as well as spot-on.
X2 on everything you said when dealing with XD sights!

I have the MKIII tool and it works great. Also spending some time with a calculator before you begin can help. If you know your sight radius and how much you want to move the POI you can use your calipers on the push-screw, or even calculate how many turns of the screw you need to get on target.

So I placed order for the MKV tool on February 16 as of yet not heard or received anything from them. Will see what happens.

Looks like he was running a two week ship time based on his last post on his website. He lists his email and phone number.

...
2/3/17

All the orders from the 12th are shipped and working on the 13th. Another one of those days with a week's worth of orders in one day. Some of the 13th orders are going out today, the rest probably MONDAY.

Regards
Ed Jennings

I sent a email and got a pretty quick reply that he is producing about 30 units a week and is 3-4 weeks behind and had just finished up the last of the January orders.

Just wanted to update this.
Ordered Feb 16th
Shipped March 11th
Received March 13th.

Have finally gotten a chance to sit down and take a good look at it.
This is a solid tool, 2lbs 7oz.
All the power coating and machine work are excellent, all the threads are clean and well cut.

I'd say it was worth the wait and seems decent for the price. I ordered extra pins and the pins designed for Novak cut sights as well.

Getting ready to put Apex DCAEK and sights on Shield...So we'll see how it works.

Tape up your slide good with masking tape, all the way around, because you will be doing a bunch of futzing around to get it in proper position, then reposition, then reposition, and again, etc, etc.

I didn't bother with the Shield and the pins that provide tension have polymer tips, if I was doing it on some fancy I would have.
Takes a bit of a 3rd hand to get everything lined up right but works good when it's all aligned. A T handled allen wrench would be better too.

I'd say you spend 20 minutes positioning and 5 minutes doing sights.

It looks like he has coated the frame and the tips where his pushers used to be bare metal, so that is a big plus.

Yeah that has a few upgrades from the MkIII I have - much fancier but doesn't sound like it's easier to use. What's the story with the pusher screw? the thing on the end looks off-center. how's that work?

There's different pins that go into the end of the screw, they don't turn when you turn the pusher screw, it maybe just the angle, but it was centered on the step of the rear sight, ther is some play in it, so you have to make sure it's centered, I didn't have it lined up straight and couldn't turn it.
What I found works best, from having to take off the rear sight twice (put the wrong striker block spring in) is to get the pin aligned then thread the bolt onto it from the outside.

*lightbulb* that must be what the ball bearings were for. I didn't put them in and the pin was trying to rotate.

I didn't put the ball-bearing in, I assumed they were for the set pins pads they articulate and sound like they have bearings under them. I just oiled the pins and they didn't turn. I don't know that they will fit in the bolt. I'll check.
