Thank you for all of the well wishes and prayers thus far. We understand there has been some interest in visiting. At this time, Jerek does not feel up to visitors yet. We will advise when he is ready. His parents and the kids will be coming for the first time today to celebrate his birthday with us.
At this time, we don't have any updates to share. The weekend has proved to be uneventful. They did a chest xray and an abdominal ultrasound to ensure all of his organs are healthy and functioning properly. This is necessary for them to be aggressive with his treatment. So far, everything looks good. Tomorrow will be a big day for Jerek. That is when we will find out which type of acute leukemia it is. Once that information is known, they can finalize his treatment plan and begin treating him. He will receive a platelet transfusion tomorrow in order to bring his numbers up so that they can insert his PICC line. This will be his lifeline.
