The visit with the babies went well on Sunday. Colt does not like the elevator. Hopefully he will get better with it. Yesterday proved to be another long day of waiting. Jerek did receive platelets yesterday morning. He did well and did not have any adverse reaction. They were able to insert his PICC line. This was greatly appreciated this morning when the nurse did not have to stick him to take his blood. The doctor finally came back yesterday evening to inform us that his diagnosis is Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This type is more common in children, but adults can still get it. The doctor told him he must just be a kid at heart. Of the two types, it is the easier type to treat and is curable. They will not have to be quite as aggressive with his treatment plan. He will begin chemotherapy sometime this morning. Please pray he does not have any negative reactions to the drugs.

While it's not a great situation by any means that's good news abut the type. I've been thinking about him everday, we are about the same age. I always make it out to the gun shows just to say hey and get that 3 minute talk in with him. Give'em hell Jerek.

Thank you so much for the update, great to hear that news.
Please keep us updated.
Such a great guy, we're all pulling for him!

Thanks for the update. And for sure, very encouraging info. Keep your heads up and stay strong, we're all pulling for you.

Thanks for the update. Glad you received some good news about Jerek. My Thoughts & Prayers are going out nightly for Jerek and your whole family.

Hopefully all went well. We're all pulling for you.

The daughter of a friend was diagnosed with ALL and they dealt with it a long time but thankfully she's been in remission for a much longer time now. I'm glad to hear it was not AML and hope he's feeling OK today after chemo.

Thatā€™s great news to hear! The prayers and offer of support will continue until Jerek is healthy and has recovered 100%!

I'm just catching up on all of this and it seems like the support for Jerek is rallying and ready to help.

I do not know whether you or your family has anyone close who can help act as a medical advisor/ proxy to help keep track of all the different tests, procedures and insurance code coverages to make sure that whatever insurance you may have will cover what is being prescribed/ recommended. Someone to keep the modern Healthcare machine in check and on its toes. The whole Medical care and Hospital situation can be intimidating but never assume that the medical community's left hand and right hand know what each other is doing. You want the best for Jerek but question everything until you are satisfied things are correct.
