So i went to my brothers house last night and he comes out with this little 22lr pocket pistol. I started looking at it and i havent a clue anything about it. I did google jimenez arms and see that they still make small pistols but this thing aint nothing like the ones i saw. Just wandering if anybody knows anything about them, how to field strip it and what not. He has never shot it and we could not get it to feed from the magazine or eject a round after getting one in the chamber. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Did find this image on google and it is exactly like the one my brother has.

My buddy had one of these when we were teenagers (1980"s). He racked the slide on a live round...and it shot a hole through the wall into the living room nearly missing his dad who was in the recliner in the living room. His dad was none happy!... came into the room, took the gun, went outside and threw it in the canal behind the house.
Jimenez are cheap and poorly made pistols in my opinion.

Thats funny right there. Somebody gave it to him but he was wanting me to see if i could get it working. Sounds like it might not be worth it

Dont' mess with it or attempt to shoot it. Burn it, melt it down into a molten puddle of metallic-like schmoo. Seriously, I wouldn't want to be within shooting distance of a jiminez.

I had 2. One in 380 and one in 25 for my son and daughter. The 380 fell apart in no lie...God's honest truth 6 rounds. These weapons were new in box. They have a life time warranty. I contacted JA and they sent me the parts to fix it. The rear peice that holds the slide on broke in 2. Slide and spring went flying forward about 10 feet. I fixed the weapon and they both sit in the safe. Don't feel comfortable selling them. Maybe a local LE buy back? These are the new Bryco guns. They use the same stuff Bryco used and moved to Nevada, after Bryco went under.

Cheap pot metal pistols, but better than no pistol at all.

Here's a video link for the takedown, it probably just needs a good scrub. Mine would only run with high velocity ammo and only with some of the cheaply made mags.

Biggest failure issues I've seen through work or had where the metal "ring" that is part of the firing mechanism (visible at the back of the slide) popping out with all the spring etc, because it's a bit failure prone.

Magazine lips may need bending back into shape, mine did now and again.

Magazines don't lock super securely sometimes, which may cause feed issues.

Also make sure when charging the pistol you pull ALL the way back on the slide. Like a cheap airsoft it will click and make you think it's cocked but pull a bit more/harder and it will click again and actually cock.

Here's a video with some troubleshooting and fixes:

I agree with the guy, mine ran fine with CCI Mini Mags.

It's a Yugo.
If you don't really need to get home, it'll serve you well.

I have an Iver Johnson TP-22 that was my Aunt Judy's bedside pistol.
It is a lot like the Jiminez... they are copies of a Walther, I believe.
The IJ TP-22 has an additional firing pin block that works with the safety.
They are known as the original Jam-a-matic pistol.
I recently discovered that Standard Velocity .22 ammo works very well in it.

They are very ammo finiky on top of just being pieces of junk. I bought one in .25 for my first pistol it was $89 dollars. It wasn't worth $29 dollars. They seem to either work or not.
