Read good and bad reviews, plus it's indoors. Who can tell me about Jim's?

One of the highest priced places in North Carolina. One of the least knowledgeable places in North Carolina. Or should I say alot of the people aren't.

they are not very helpful to be honest.
Oh man, I'm never gonna find a place nearby! Maybe I need to revisit the hay bale post on another of my threads...lol...where to get a hay bale?

Range 1 Public Shooting &Gun in Bunnlevel? Near Sanford, I think. Anyone been there? I really haven't been many places in this state! I need to get out more!

If you're going that far - make the trip over to Fuquay gun, or over to Vass to Ed's.

Both of which would take the time to explain things and answer questions.

If you are near Jim's, then Ed's in Vass is a good alternative. If you want the ultimate firearms experience, go to Mid South Guns in Wagram. Both of those shops, at least in the past, have sold so many guns they are luke-warm for helpfulness, as are many of the local gun stores.

Fuquay Guns might be the best bet for folks willing to help and knowledgeable. They have a lot of my money. Tell them Boo Boo sent you, and you'll get a fiver off the price.

Why bother with that answer? That sure didn't help @Millie very much.

Man, you don't like me, do you?

She asked an opinion and that's mine. I would rather not do business with them.

As for a suggestion, see Paul at Carolina Firearms on Bragg Blvd across from Eutaw. Not a huge selection but honest, good people to deal with.

There are about 600,000 words in the English Language. Using a few more of them might have been useful in the reply. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Fuquay gun gets a great deal of first time shooters in their store. It has become almost like a specialty in a way.

If you're in or near fayetteville I'd suggest heading up a few miles to 37 PSR in Bunnlevel. Outstanding range facilities and staff.

shooters supply are pretty decent if your looking to buy. no range though.

I actually have been in Mid South Guns...I'm going again to try to find out about the range. The guy told me the first time I was there "it's behind the school"... Very helpful. I do like the shop, though. Will check online about Fuquay guns. Hope it's close! Thanks for the info.

Fairly near FVille, actually found SOMEthing in Bunnlevel. Might have to go there anyway, just because of the city's name!

@Millie go to Jim's and talk to Tony (glasses, salt/pepper hair, goatee), or John (older gent, bald on top, likely wearing reading glasses on his nose), and tell them Allen Pier is a friend of yours, and you are wanting to use the range. In fact, if you will PM me what day and time you are wanting to go, I will call Tony today and let him know to be on the lookout for you...

Thanks! I have no idea when I can go anywhere this week! My roof still isn't on, relatives still in town. I was hoping to shoot a bit before my qualifying Sunday, but it's not looking good! Between rain, funding issues for roof (settled now!), getting the materials, it's been a mess! I'll be glad when the roof is on and I can take a breath! I'm looking into the Wagram range too...waiting on a response from the guy. If I decide to go to the "big" city, I will take you up on your kind offer to pave the way for me....very sweet of you!

Agreed. I like Carolina Firearms. It's been quite awhile since I've stopped there, but it was on my list every time that I went through Fayetteville for work. Had a good "used" counter. Makes sense, because it's a pawn shop in a military town. Folks working there were always very nice.

Been going to Jims in Fayetteville for decades (since 84'). Never used the range but the staff is a lot better then Guns Plus in Springlake. Both are high priced but deals can be found every now and then. There's 3 Jim's Jobberys. One in Fayetteville, Southern Pines and Wilmington. Good friendly shops without ranges are Carolina Firearms and Shooters Choice in Fayetteville and Ed's in Vass.

CD

Guns Plus in Spring Lake has an indoor range also.

Thanks guys! Does the Jim's in Southern Pines have a range, though? I'm in that area once a week.

Don't know.
Check out Moore County Wildlife and Conservation Club.
They're located on Easter Road in Southern Pines.
From what I've seen they offer tons of programs, including children's and women's only instruction.
