    Liggett Group LLC, a manufacturer of tobacco products, located in Mebane, NC is currently seeking an Associate Engineer.

    Summary: Entry level position. Provides engineering support to manufacturing operations, focusing on failure code analysis; Provides project management for capital and/or expense projects; assist with providing engineering support for plant utilities.

    Duties Include:
    • Develop, support and utilize Maximo software application to ensure accurate maintenance management system (MMS) information, as well as failure codes, symptom definitions, etc.
    • Establish FCR relationships for equipment, (Failure, Cause, Remedy) and implement in MMS system
    • Analyze work orders for repeated failures and prevention methods
    • Research production/processing equipment for purchase and gather data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs
    • Assist with designs, specifications, cost estimation, installation of, and commissioning of new production processes, layout and equipment, including material, labor, etc., and monitor the construction/installation process
    • Work with management/staff to ensure that established efficiency and safety targets are met
    • Participate in Management of Change, Hazard Risk Assessments, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
    • Work closely with the maintenance staff to troubleshoot plant processes as needed; to include mechanical, electrical, and control components
    • Assist with development of Capital Expenditure Requests for new plant processes/equipment
    • Maintain a safe working environment
    • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
    • Ensure FDA Compliance

    Qualified candidates will have:
    • B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
    • 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
    • Experience with mechanical, electrical/electronic and pneumatic controls.
    • Experience with personal computer programs: Excel, Word, and AutoCAD
    • Experience using a Maintenance Management System (preferably Maximo)
    • Ability to plan, organize, and communicate
    • Knowledge of production equipment, operation, and maintenance
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings, production schedules, plans, and product specifications
