I have just purchased a JP product and was wondering what experiences others have had with them, not so much quality wise because we know they make good stuff but as in dealing with them? Are they reputable, stand up people or so forth?

They are a great company! I've called several times with minor technical questions and they were great. The one time I called, John Paul himself picked the phone, answered my questions, and then took my order. Granted that was a few years back and they may have been a bit smaller then, but when he top guy in the company is willing to answer the phone for technical questions, I take it as a good sign.
