Judge strikes down 'highly paternalistic' CA law banning handgun ads in gun stores

A federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama on Tuesday struck down a 95-year-old California law that had banned handgun ads at gun shops, calling it "unconstitutional on its face" and slamming the state for its "paternalistic" assumption that its residents can't make up their own minds about firearms.

It’s like one of the laws on the “strange laws you’ll never believe lists” maybe right next to the NV law that says you can’t keep a horse overnight in your hotel room if you’re staying for less than 3 nights.

95 years to kill it, so things have been bad for a loooong time.

And you get fined.

But you can nurture an industry that makes thousands of motion pictures which actually show unstable people killing other people with handguns.
And you get rewarded.

In California, it makes complete sense. I'm serious. They don't have a problem with stuff like this.

It didn't make any sense as to why anyone in CA would care about a stupid and/or unconstitutional law at all, they have lots of them. They like them, clearly, because they keep letting people who create and enforce them stay in power. BUT, in this case the state actually used said law to extract money from some people so they fought back and somehow won. That's pretty impressive.
