That's right, GIVE AWAY ! I'm planning on sort of a meetup where you eat and drink and socialize and WORK. ( And camp too if you bring your gear, it will probably take a couple days to totally complete). We have about 3 generations of collecting and general pack ratting, to give away, or throw away. There is so much of it that no two people can do it without help. I'm going to rent a construction waste dumpster for everything rejected. Everything else will be given away except for the power tools and a few things that are part of the estate. All I want is one good set of hand tools and one of the tool boxes. The rest can be had by sorting and dipping and a signaling head nod from yours truly. We will also have a pile that only Goodwill would like too. The main thing is to clean up the place and get it more "Old Folks Friendly". I can't begin to list it all, but there are so many hand tools that they alone should attract some interest. All you have to do is signify that you're interested. Heck it don't even have to be an exact weekend, it could turn out to be many. Also, if you have a new weapon you'd like to test, bring that too. We'll make sure you get some time to burn some brass up.
It may turn out that you may just wanna come visit in your pickup, and spend the day with me openin boxes and poking around lookin under stuff and taking home a few things with a smile to go with them. I know that most all of you guys have families and a pile of commitments and responsibilities, so that may just work out better for you. I'd much rather get a buncha guys together and have some fun doin what we do when we get face to face in a large group. Heck, I'll even clean up the bathroom in the shop for everyone to use. It has a shower too! So get dirty as you want and go home shiney as when ya left. Right now I'm open to all ideas concerning this and want to know who'd be interested.

Lookin like it'll be 6/17-6/25

If it don't come together as planned, you can make your own date. Unless you have a huge tandem dump trailer and a tractor and the time to make a few trips, you'd never get it all. I doubt with 20 people we'd get it gone in one day. :)

See what i told Burt? It'll all depends on the weather and getting the dumpster up here...lets shoot for June for a start and give the word time to get around.

Other than the first week of June moving my daughter down Texas way I could come see my friend in Kernersville and we could ride up there.

I'm in, depending on the date. It has been a long time since I poked around in my grandparents' attic but I still enjoy the amateur archaeology.

Thanks Chad...we found a guy if he has an available dumpster the week I choose. Heh...I told him it would largely depends on the dumpster. He's only chargin me 300 bucks . From what I hear so far, that's not bad.

Nah I can make it. Just wouldn't be feasible to run a 4 mpg truck up there with a dumpster. Especially with my current workload.

It sounds like a good time.
 
I'm in. Whenever. And folks he talking about ALOTof stuff. I was up there last week and I'd bet there's everything in there but a woman.
 
Although I've spent the last two days cleaning out and organizing my stuff for a garage sale this weekend, I collect vintage tools and oddball unique schtuff. Please keep me in the loop, I would love the oppertunity to purchase some things from you ( although my wife says my Aunt Tique and Uncle Junk are too fat already!)

Heck, I think they took down the barrier on 85... should be smooth sailin up 29. You can make your own date. I'm here most all the time. If this thing gels we'll have a good time, I'm sure of it.

Really, that goes for anyone. Come anytime. Maybe call in advance so I can greet ya with proper clothes on and put my teeth in. Heck, I may even take a bath. :)

Man Muzz that sounds like a blast I'd love to join in but I have no room for more stuffs (I'll probably be doing something similar in the not to distant future myself) unless it was sailboat stuffs and then space is still limited. I'd love to come just to meet you and some of these other fellers and help out but it sounds like when Y'all are doing this I'll be out at sea.
Hope you have a great time and some of the young fellers just starting their homesteads will show up to help and get some much needed stuffs for their shops.
 
I think as soon as the dumpster is set, any of you guys can come anytime after that. I'd much rather make it a working meet and greet though. In any case I'll let yanno when the dumpster gets here. It'll probably be somewhere around the second week in June.

Yup, I'll probably be answerin a lotta "WTH is THIS?" questions. Most all the test equipment and stuff of that genre is like me...OLD. Wrenches n hammers n stuff like that, age really well. I have a few duplications of yard tools, but neither me nor my dad liked them much, dig it?...umm..no. There is all manner of screws, nuts and bolts and nails too. As far as sailboat stuff? There may be a few things that came over on the Mayflower...at least they look like they did, lol. Perhaps some stainless machine screws maybe? What I'd like ta see is a row of tents in the field, a campfire, and the smell of some bacon cookin, and a buncha folks laughin. Yehhh..that'd be so nice. Heck man, you can come anytime ya want. I like your kind o visitor. That goes for tha lot of ya.
