I am always on the lookout for another dollar or two in "junk silver". It is hard to find a place to walk into and pick up a few dollars her and there. Most of the time I end up ordering from Ampex. My wife had a necklace that needed a new clasp on it. I stopped by Hayes jewelers in Lexington while I was on lunch. I just happened to ask if they had any. They have a lot of pre-64 coinage if any is interested. They were almost spot price vs. coinflation had dimes a $1.2297 each (10 x 1.2297=$12.297). I bought several dollars worth at $12.50, they will sell by the coin and let you pick out your coins. I will be revisiting now on a regular basis.

Nice, that is a pretty good price for junk silver. We have/had a member or two here that deals in silver, gold and coins.
Unfortunately I think the only major LGS to me is Hyatt's and they aren't known for low prices, lol.

I've collected boxes of contactor assemblies, the tips are silver, anywhere from dime to nickel sized once they're removed from the copper bars.
If you know anyone that works with them, ask for the old junk contactors.
