Stopped at the Garner Cabelas for about 15 min this afternoon. They have about 15 or so K31s on dispay for sale. Nestled in the crowd was one jewel. Prices are mega high but for the one jewel you won't pay too much, just too soon.
Some other interesting K31 rifles had match inspection stickers and and several were 'P' marked.

I suspect these were Samco rifles before Century got them.

Oh man, I've been wanting one of these for forever. :x How mega high is mega high? Can you give price numbers, and whether or not any were worth those numbers? The K31 is pretty much the one milsurp other than FALs that I want, so if the money's right, that might be worth a trip to Cabela's.

There are several smaller companies importing them in small numbers as they buy them from individuals in Switzerland. They probably came from one of these companies. Since they are private purchase guns, there are a lot of cool ones coming in, like ones with match stickers, target sights, etc. They aren’t cheap at the wholesale level, either, when you can get them. Most of the importers have larger buyers who gobble them up as soon as they come in.

825-925. The gem is pretty high at 925 but the market price will get there soon enough.

The K-31 is one smooth rifle. I've got (2) K-31s as well as a K-11, 1896/11, and 1896. I was fortunate enough to pick them up about five or six years ago when they started showing up in quantity. It is incredible how perfectly machined the rifles are.

Just now seeing this. I wonder if they bought a truckload of them (I just read something similar about Cabelas's recently purchasing several hundred mixmaster Albanian SKSs and allegedly spreading them out across stores nationwide and selling them for far too much as well). Swung by the Cabela's near me here in Indiana and they had several K31s (at least six, if I recall). A few in pretty good condition, but all were super overpriced.

Geez, I kick myself for not buying one or two of these when they were cheap 10 years or so ago! Seems like I recall them being sub $300.

I have a C&R FFL and I paid $189 for these two back in 2007. They are wonderful rifles, beautifully made. Now I wish I have pickup up a couple more when they were priced reasonably.
