Anyone been yet? I still have to make a few mods to mine before I put it in the water this year. Will be making a custom rod holder, adding a few magnets to keep track of small things, and maybe a fish finder I bought but never put on.

What are your plans?

Also any kayak friendly places within a hours drive of Rock Hill?

I've only fished from mine twice last year. Had some time to really think of the type of fishing and the area to be fished over the winter. I decided to adapt a trolling motor. Yeah, it's more $ to the .gov and all that.

The reasoning is it would take me almost an hour to paddle to the best spots from the launch areas. Plus, I'm lazy...

What kind of kayaks are you guys fishing. I went once around the first of the year and haven’t been again. Planning on going to Jordan Lake tomorrow if I can get out of work in time. Still trying to decide on how I want everything rigged on mine, hopefully have all the bugs worked out before going to the beach in May.

I had a Hobie Outback a few years ago... like a dummy, I sold it. Wish I had it now.
Though I might want something a little more stable for duck hunting and able to stand up.

I'm seriously jonesin' for some fishing time.

I’ve got just the kayak you need to stand up with. It’s a Jackson big rig. Paddles good for the size and I stood up while fishing inshore with no problem. I’m fishing out of a Hobie pro angler now and love it.

Are you guys watching the MLF tour on jordan falls and harris lakes? They are absolutely killing it right now pulling 5lbers regularly and up to 9lbs

I watched them running south down the lake on my way to work yesterday... that made me sad...

I fish out of a perception pescador 10. Messed with a pvc rod holder yesterday but couldn't get it to my liking, will mess with it some more.

I have added custom out riggers, and a custom tackle box mount. I will try and get pics this afternoon.

It’s just a beefed up canoe. But supposedly they are amazingly stable and tough as an anvil. Google custom gheenoe, people put center consoles on them and casting/poling platforms.
That is bad ass. Report back if you get it. Look like it would be awesome to fish the creeks around Harkes Island. Probally work like a champ to flounder gig out of too.

Yeah, I got serious. Fell in love with the brand while vacationing at HHI.
Jason Schall is one of their Pro Staff Fishermen out of Charleston, SC. He currently holds 50 fishing records. He and his wife and my wife and I were guests at a rental house in Kiawah Island, SC and we went out fishing the inshore waters around the resort. Didn't catch much but we enjoyed their company and talking with them. His wife Jennifer holds many female fishing records as well.

Spent around three hours on Jordan today with a buddy. We didn’t even get a nibble. Furthest peddle I’ve had in my pro angler, fished areas I never would have ventured to in my paddle kayaks. It’s a lot easier to peddle than paddle, can’t wait to take it to the beach in May.

Nice trailer. I’ve always carried my big rig in the back of the truck, a real pain when you can’t get right to the water. I’m planning on working on a trailer tomorrow for our pro anglers.

Dude text me last night. Probably going to pick it up after church and family stuff.

I can't decide if I should get a trailer or not for my kayak. Atm I just put it in the back of my Tahoe but my Tahoe is a 2 door so I can't close the rear hatch with the kayak in there. Don't want to put it on the roof because that's pretty high up for me. Lol not that I can't just really awkward to lift 60lbs over my head and try to get it on kayak roof mount.

Your 60# Kayak is probably like my 73# canoe, it's all 2 people can do to get it on top of a truck rack. ONE person wouldn't stand a chance.
Check Harbor Freight for one of the "kit" trailers. I assembled/modified one for the canoe...

If you have a receiver hitch, you could do this. Would work for the Tahoe too.

I carried a wilderness systems ride 135 on top of my suburban for three years before I got my trailer. It weighed 85lbs with nothing in it. I kept my paddle and anchors inside it and loaded it by myself. Lemme tell you how much that sucked

I carried mine on top of a jacked up Jeep Grand Cherokee for awhile. My lil trailer was the best investment I ever made.
Its a Harbor Freight tilt trailer with two pieces of PVC pipe bolted on it. Haven't had an issue so far and not expecting too.

This is how I rolled this weekend. I can get two 12' kayaks on top and still tow the camper. I can also get a 16' canoe up there and it still clears the camper.

I paddled the Cashie River near Windsor, NC. Didn't get a single nibble all weekend. Locals said to come back when the water was warmer. Of course, that would coincide with the mosquito swarm and moccasin crawl. But it was still an incredibly beautiful place. Not my liquor bottle, I was just picking up some trash.

The Town of Windsor has built these treehouses that over look the river. Electricity but no running water. Nice bath house ashore. Decent campground also with full hookups. Bald eagles fly up the river, just off the water, right past the tree houses.

Does anybody use a fish finder on their kayak. I’ve currently got a lowrance hook 4” model. First one I’ve ever used and still learning the ropes with it. Sometimes it does a great job, other times it seems the more I try to use it the worse it gets, even with no changes in settings.
