I have collected different knives for awhile. Case, Benchmade, Barlow, Old Timers, Boker, Viele Designs, Spyderco etc etc... I started collecting Case Knives as a young man, and still do. I like their Toothpicks, Doc's, and pruning knives.
My crazy mom still gets me one every Christmas. Sometimes the same one as last year, Thanks Ma!
Typically I like a lot of different styles of blades and blade technology from the primitive to the advanced.
Recently, I've gotten into some different knife makers local and otherwise, and am interested in hearing from ya'll !!

Would appreciate it if we could have some insight on blade-smiths or knife companies ya'll like and know, or even ones ya think suck and why.
Take a pic, (if you'd like) or throw a link, tell us about it; ( type of knife, maker, blade material, size, cost etc... )
We could all benefit from a collection of this kind of information as a resource, and I am sure there are some really great knife makers and companies Not Everyone Knows about that could benefit from folks knowing about their great work.
Thanks in Advance for Sharing!!

Thought I'd start.
I recently picked these up at the Big Lick Show from a gentleman named Tom Stone from Lexington. One is for carry when camping etc.. the other I might try to use for fleshing skins.
Neither is crazy sharp or something Id feel bad about using or sharpening when dulled. larger was 95. scales burled oak/ smaller was 65.00 Scales Blk.Walnut

I am excited to see how it goes with theses blades. Tom made the sheath for the larger one right there, while we talked, Great Guy.

Gerald Drew in Asheville. He makes many different styles from kitchen knives to hunters to Bowie's. His prices are reasonable also.

Some others that I have their goods:
Chris Reeve
Mike Snody
Arno Bernard - South Africa
Trevor Burger - South Africa
Todd Hunt
Smith and Son's
Dan Winkler - Boone

If you are interested in knives, you should go to the Blade Show in Atlanta June 4-6. It got cancelled last year, so this year will be very busy. I'm hoping I get to go again this year.

Microtech.
No not their stilettos, they are ok, but the Smith and Wesson copy is both $40 instead of $400, and also technically a spring assist knot not an automatic, so no legal issues.

However, for a while, Microtech made this beautiful pigsticker called the Curahee.
It was a piece of art.
The weight, the balance, the feel weee almost perfect. I did have it custom stipples, and then it really rocked, it also beat up the Kbar and took its lunch money.

I got to meet George Herron, tour his shop, and see the private collection he kept in his coffee table. He was working on one called "The Wave" at the time. Not a straight edge on that knife. Probably the most gorgeous knife I've ever held. And seriously considered trying to get on his waiting list for one but I didn't have the money. I'm not sure if he ever released any of them and I've never seen one since.

The guy that arranged that meeting for our school was Danny Robinson of Robinson X files. He makes some nice blades and I have one of his first handled knives.

@Darkhorse Thank You!! (+1)
I know you told me about these blades awhile back. I was thinking about it last-night, and I couldn't remember the name. You have also showed me one or two.👍
I would not have known about how awesome these blades were without ya!
This company puts out some quality stuff!!! Esee ya'll!!

putting up a link: https://eseeknives.com/

Have a couple of ESEE 4s, daily carry a Benchmade Adamas folder that has been beat all to hell, an older Buck 119, some Old Hickorys that I’ve reworked, a Buck 703 (first knife my Dad gave me, couple of Tops.

Nothing high-end, but they all do what I need them to do and do it well.

@Tim I hope ANY forum members or family of members that are blade-smiths will post some pics, and give others a chance to know their work, and connect with them.
This way folks can possibly buy or even trade for some of their wares.

Looking to compile something here a little more straight forward for everyone. Many of the above posts and links give specific names,
and take folks directly to a blade-smiths work that can be purchased or viewed without digging through threads.
Keep em Coming Please!
Thank You
