The bone marrow biopsy was originally scheduled for September 17th. Jerek’s white count and neutrophils were not as high as the doctor wanted them to be so she rescheduled it for the following Monday. On the 24th, the white count had come up a little but the neutrophils had dropped. In order to get a good sample, the doctor once again wanted to wait another week for his counts to recover. They believe this last round of chemo just took a toll on his marrow and it is taking a while for it to recover. When we went in today, the white count once again came up a little but the neutrophils dropped even further. At this point, they wanted to go ahead and do the biopsy. All of Jerek’s other counts and levels are normal and it seemed like they got a good sample today. There is very little concern that the cancer is back, but we will not have any results until later in the week. Please pray that Jerek is still in remission and that his neutrophil count will come up soon so he can continue on to the next round of chemo.
