By God’s grace the MRD test was also negative. This means that Jerek is still in a very good, deep remission. He was scheduled to go in last Thursday for labs and an MRI. It has been 6 months since he had the seizure and they discovered the blood clots in his brain. They wanted to do a repeat MRI to see if the clots had cleared up and they could tentatively take him off of the Lovenox shots. We had a few trees fall down on our driveway last Thursday as the hurricane passed through and we were not able to get out to go to his appointments. Luckily they were able to reschedule everything for Friday. On Friday, his neutrophils had finally come up and were in the 3,000s.
He went in today to start this next course of treatment. He had chemo today as well as a lumbar puncture. This first month is chemo once a week with a second weekly visit for labs. This chemo will drop his counts significantly and he will likely need transfusions again. The MRI was clean and showed nothing unusual. There are no clots. The doctor took him off of the Lovenox shots. A neurology appointment was also made so that he could tentatively come off Keppra. He will hopefully be down to minimal medications by the time he reaches the maintenance phase. Thank you again for all of the prayers and we appreciate your continued support.
