Kentucky ballistics on YouTube just reviewed a suppressed Henry in 45/70. You may want to look up that video.Marlin lever gun 45/70 love shooting it but its way loud anyone here suppressed a 45/70, yea or nay?
Do you have a picture? Sounds like a behemoth of a canI mean back in 2004 AWC custom built me a 50BMG suppressor. It was hearing safe. It sounded like a 22 LR but held the “note” longer, it also trippled the recoil and was not pleasant to shoot.
So, you would still have to deal with the ballistic crack of the supersonic bullet, it shouldn’t be that bad. You may want to look into suppressors that have a built in muzzle break to cut down the recoil.
Ooooo…. I didn’t know that cap was available for my Hybrid.do it
Hybrid 46 w/ anchor brake
I went this route. I found a Howa MiniAction 450BM with a 16” threaded barrel.I’d be down to setup a 45-70 for suppressed use although would want to know if the barrel can stabilize heavy subsonic loads. A ballistically very similar option would be a 450 bushmaster bolt action. I’d probably go that route just to have the bolt rather than lever action but that’s all personal preference.

Pretty sure my Omega 300 came with one. I swapped for a Ti flat cap.Ooooo…. I didn’t know that cap was available for my Hybrid.

The Anchor brake improves sound reduction and mitigates recoil, allowing the shooter to re-acquire the target for faster follow-up shots.silencerco.com

I do not have any pics. This was pre iPhone and the files were corrupted.Do you have a picture? Sounds like a behemoth of a can
I also have a guide gun in 450 Marlin. I’ve thought about cutting the barrel to 16.1” and threading it. That would eliminate the ports and give me a big bore that I could suppress that wasn’t so shiny. I just can’t ever bring myself to modify any of my JMs.I got one of the old Marlin Guide Guns with the ported barrel, don't think a suppressor would work too good on that.
