If I wanted to give the fake barrel shroud after I receive my tax stamp, does anyone know if it can be done? Or should I just look at the pistol/Sig brace option first?

I would go with the pistol/brace version., myself. I had been pondering the exact same thing. I decided I like the short version without the shroud only because of less work if I SBR it. The rectangular shroud is awesome looking on the Vector.

I've been looking at the Vectors for a while now. I want the carbine model in .45. I thought about the SBR but it's not really what I want. They are an awesome weapon for a Jeep gun or the side by side though.

Yes it can be done. I've seen it done.

The only issue you will have is that you really cannot remove the barrel for it to be cut down. The dang things are liquid nitroed into the receiver.

Then one I did we used some patience, a flat brace to press the saw against and a slow band saw to make the cut. I crowned it by hand, had a forum member make me a thread alignment tool and bought the die on ebay. I then recut the threads by hand.

The result is a folding stock, 7.5 inch barreled Kriss that is quieter than most nail guns with a wet Tirant 45.

Let me know if you need to borrow the Die and TAT.

See this is what I was afraid of, the barrel removal. I am so glad you have done one. It saved me from even thinking about it. I was thinking of a pistol conversion with a folding brace so I can legally conceal it in my truck. I would either go 9mm or 10mm just for giggles. I love the Vector, it took a while to grow on me but now it's like a scorching case of the herp, I just keep thinking about it and the only way to quit, is scratch the itch and just buy one..lol.

Sorry i just hoped I might get a chuckle out of you guys. I seriously am wanting one pretty bad now. PCC and subguns are addictive.

I was fortunate enough to know s couple of guys that were Kriss dealers and talked to them first.

Im serious when I say that about the barrel. It's freeze shrunken and put into the receiver.

Its still very doable you just have to do it all by hand.

And they are a perfect truck gun. Just don't skimp on mags. Buy Glock mags. If you want high capacity but the kriss extensions.

I heve bought and thrown away many off brands. KCI's are the worst.

I'm clearly not as manly as you. Thanks for the insight. I'll buy the pistol and brace.

I learned that HK does the same with their barrels in the MR556/416's. I have seen a upper go into a freezer overnight and then heat the receiver with a heat gun to remove a barrel, but it isn't fun work.

I thank you for sharing your knowledge, because it probably saved me a lot of cussing. It might even be something I would look forward to as a project. But first and foremost I want one for the truck first. Thanks Chdamn
