I have a leupold laser range finder that the red led readout has become unreadable on. Leupold offered me a new model at a significant discount but seemed to indicate that all laser rangefinders eventually become unreadable.

I was wondering what everyone's experience is on this. I think I have had the range finder for maybe 6 or 7 years. Do all rangefinders quit working after a certain lifespan even if they are infrequently used and stored properly?

I “acquired” one while in Iraq back in 2005, and I gave it to my buddy and he’s been using it ever since. I actually used it on the range with him right before we left Texas earlier this year. Still works perfectly; it’s a Bushnell.

So it sounds like I may have gotten a bad design. Would you stick with a new leupold?

If you're gettting a significant discount, why not? Go to Midway and/or Amazon and check the reviews for that model.
