Last Meals

Well, not grits.

It would definitely have bacon and shrimp.

Actually, now that I think about it, I’d like to have some wine bottled in AD2118, after it is very old. And I don’t even drink.

A real caramel pie like they used to sell at O'Charleys. A whole one.
That's all.

If it was my last meal it would be decadent. I would want some big shrimp, deveined with a sliver of jalapeño put in it’s place, then wrapped in bacon and deep fried with a reumalade dipping sauce.

Then for the main course some lobster thermadore with a twice baked potato on the side.

Warm pecan pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Maggie, Linda, Amy, oh what was that girls name from 1971?
It was good then, I hope it has aged well.

That's too hard! I have had the privelege to have eaten some fabulous food in my time on earth. Of all, the escargot appetizer along with the blood orange Old Fashion at "The Inn at Gideon's Ridge" in Blowing Rock, and the Chateubriand at "The Hotel Frontenac" in Quebec stand out. That said, my very favorite food is fried chicken with biscuits and gravy.

How to choose?

Fried chicken from Joyce's Restaurant in FV, My Granny B's cathead biscuits with rabbit gravy, my Granny P's creamed corn, field peas cooked all day with ham hocks, cucumbers in apple cider vinegar with pepper, and 10 layer yellow cake with chocolate icing from Sherry's bakery in Dunn.
And Diet Doctor Pepper.
And a shot of F-you bourbon to end it.

Ensure. 41CGq3y7IYL._SY450_.jpgthis kind. And it will probably be fed to me with a syringe and a feeding tube.

It better be the vanilla as the chocolate really sucks.

WINNER! Did you have a circular room in the tower?

Really, I don’t know what I would want as far as food goes if it were to be my last meal. I think if I knew it were such a situation, I would feel blessed to have PB&J if if I could share it with my wife. I know that’s not what you’re asking, but it’s the answer I keep coming back to. Sorry.

Food wise, if I had my choice, it would probably be a good ribeye steak, medium rare,

4 dz raw Core Sound oysters, a grilled wood duck, standing rib roast, wedge salad, and a cheese plate consisting of the best English and French cheese. I would drink Pouilly Fusse with the oysters, Beaujoais with the duck, pricey Bordeaux with the beef, and an ungodly exspensieve port with the cheese.

Mom's homemade Fried Chicken, mashed taters, green beans and my Great Grand Mothers Cherry Yum Yum for desert
I'm a down to earth type guy and don't need alot of fancy stuff to be happy.
