Latest Battery Oaks Hacksaw Project

@Catfish and @Windini , I see you both "liked" the above video......I guessing now that you have all the current scoop on the Fits Special you'll be seeing us to pick up your own?????;)
It's a better explanation, and the history behind it is pretty cool. You ready to try that on a Glock?

Enough with these poor old Model 10's.

Let's break out the Colt SAA's, the Freedom Arms, and the Pythons and get to work on them.

You misunderstand.

Since it's such a desirable modification that adds to the value of any firearm, I want to see Billy and Eddie fitz all their colt Saa's, FA's, registered mags and pythons to increase their worth.

Not just poor old model 10's.

We never claimed to add value. We’re just improving the original design to suit our taste and improve performance

You gonna add a T-grip also?

Don't forget the rubber bands on the grip......no old-school NE detective would be caught dead without them.

Have Hacksaw Won't Travel.
I'm sure @BatteryOaksBilly will hook you up with a custom job on any of those you'll take him. 😉

YES!!!!!! And some Plastic Franzite fake stag grips!!! Was the rage in decades gone by....Thanks!

I like this about as well as any other Fitz - a few years from now future gun owners will look at these the same way we look at a sporterized military rifle from WW2 or a bubba’d SKS

We'll do one if @Geezer is on board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are plenty of butchered up Glocks pictured every day...sometimes on this forum.

I saw a very nice Colt Detective Special get Fitzed, a Browning Citori O/U get it's barrels shortened to 18", a Python barrel fitted to a K frame S&W, and I've seen numerous rifle, shotgun and, pistol barrels cut off. There are even a couple of wind chimes made from barrel cut offs. It's just not Model 10's that get altered.

I sporterized a pristine 1903 Springfield one time. I wish now that I had not, but that is water under the bridge. I got it in November 1963 when I was 12 years old for $30. There were stacks of them at the Army Store down on Vine Street. That was big money for me. I poured through the Williams and Heaters catalogs looking for parts to get to make it into a fine hunting rifle. There were no deer in these parts to speak of, but the outdoor magazines gave me the itch for a real big game rifle. I would shoot it when my folks were not home into a grape crate stacked with Life Magazines inside my bedroom. It was quite loud. That was before hearing protection was common. I am surprised I can hear at all. Anyway, a Fagen stock, Williams rear sight, a new safety, and scope mounts produced a rifle that I used with pride. It is still one of my favorites among my numerous high power hunting rifles. I have other Springfield's that are still in their military configuration and that will never be altered by me.

The point is that I turned something common and easily obtainable into something more useful to me. I did it because I wanted to do so for myself. Sure, it trashed any future collector value, but I had a rifle that I wanted and that suited my purposes. What future gun owners think about me is of little concern to me.

Scroll through Armslist and look at the “Custom” Glocks where somebody changed the sights and put in a drop in trigger. Now it’s supposed to be worth $1000. Good Luck with that. We spend countless hours (Well maybe minutes) planning out custom projects. No bolt on parts. Every part handcrafted for a truly one off gun. I can only dream about what we could do with a lathe and milling machine

I don't mean this as a criticism of you. Just want to point out that this statement reflects an assumption that all gun owners are unified in their views, values and desires.

We ain't.

We do, however, have many shared and/or overlapping interests, concerns, and attitudes that link us together into a broad category - gun owners - that is distinct from at least one other category of people: gun haters. But we're still individuals, and each of us changes over time. (This is a good thing!)

In (what's left of) this free society, we have the right to alter our personal property to suit our individual desires at any given moment in time. That may appall some and delight others. We may even look back and regret. But that's life!

Understand. My post wasn’t meant to be harsh, but a truthful analogy of a similar scenario on older military rifles. If someone finds a sporterized enfield rifle today the first thing they try to do is return it original condition. The fitz modifications will be viewed in the same manner a few years down the road when model 10s aren’t as plentiful.

I do fully support the idea “ I will do what I want to anything I own” If it is yours and you like this knock yourself out.
Heck buy a few more and chop them up

Larry said the first day he arrived here he noticed a New Browning Citori with the barrels lopped off...note to self he said...I'm in the right place! We have cut the barrels off several American Derringers. A .45 so short that the und of the cartridge was even with the muzzle. I'm certain we've cut over 100 barrels of handguns, rifles and shotguns. @Geezer wasn't exaggerating about the wind chime out of barrels.

We bill ourselves as the home of Bad Ideas executed poorly..............come see us. we'd love to have you for a visit. If you come next Saturday you'll get to visit with our Pard @Geezer all the way from TexAss. Out of the thousands of visitors we have had we've only had two that left and swore we were all Racissss Demons..........doing the work of the Gun Gods.....Love to have you BUT don't leave your gun unguarded!!! The most important thing you'll need here is a sense of humor....I've always been certain that a Great sense of humor necessitated a keen intellect....if you come I can supply ALL the guns be we ain't got No intellect to spare.

One last thing to all new comers and hangerons....Google B&M Rifles when you have a moment....when we set our minds to some projects it turns out pure genius. BB

Must of been a bad bad dent just above the 18" mark

🤣 An old Army bud & I, after we'd finished up whatever hare brained project we were working on, would say, "Well, we ain't cheap, but we do bad work."

Fitz was very progressive for his time. He lived in very violent times. Some may not know one of the main reasons for the trigger guard
partially removed was to prevent broken trigger finger in hand to hand confrontation. I like the look but would never alter any of my snubs. Sewing leather in coat pockets was one of his persuasions.
