The lastest outbreak is a turf war in Charlotte. About 160 reports so far (10 arrests). Using AR style guns mostly at cars, people at school bus stops, some dogs were victims. But the cops are not amused. What could go wrong?

If gangs decide to fight their turf battles with paintball guns, then I'm all for it. The collateral damage is much less severe.

Firing off a paint ball gun in Greensboro falls under the same law that bans firing a gun or shooting a bow inside the city limits.
The statute is somewhat vaguely written as it classifies even airsoft as dangerous weapons.
The PD generally don't take airsoft guns away unless the complaint involves the kids shooting at people

Charlotte is similar. It’s a crime to discharge any weapon that launched a projectile.

Even a straw qualifies if you shoot a spitball.
