I was reading threads on Castboolits as I was setting up my new/old Dillon 550B for the first time. I happened to note a post about the lead time for Dillon die sets :

ONE YEAR !

I'll go back to seeing how to set up my RCBS dies in the 550....

Wow!!! That is crazy long lead times. Wonder if it is a matter of being extremely busy or can’t get materials? Probably a combination of both.

Wow! Seriously? I could maybe see that one uncommon calibers but dang. That's a LONG time... Wonder what the site itself shows currently. I remember them saying something about filling distributor orders before individual orders.

In the last year I decided to get another hopper setup for my 550. I remember the lead times being a good ways out from Dillon directly. But went to a distributor and found it in stock. Same cost to my door and had it in hand in a normal amount of time.

My 9mm dies were ordered on 12/9/2020 and arrived on 3/24/21.

My experience with trying to buy a new 550C was to look on the 1911 forum and Fleabay, because Dillon said they were backordered and it might take many months. Fleabay guy I had bought from previously, had a nib 550C with conversion kit for 5.56mm, ready to ship. The price difference between the factory and this dealer was $25. Since I reload rifle on a Bonanza Co-Ax, I sold the 5.56 conversion kit and the price difference disappeared. The 550C arrived in a couple of days, still wrapped in the Dillon box with all the extras.

I have been waiting on a full dillon 45acp setup (dies , conversion and new powder measure ) since early November for my xl650
