So last night I received in the mail a Leatherman Wingman from the factory.
I shipped it off about two weeks ago, a beater Ive been using for a couple years now.
Two of the tools I'd snapped off trying to use them for prying some staples out of subflooring, the blade was getting dull with repeated use, and the handles were getting some slop in them.

Two weeks later I have a Wingman that Im pretty sure is brand new (no marks that Ive found yet on it).
Two weeks. From the time I shipped it out till it got back to me.
They've stopped the "send five bucks with your tool for shipping" part, just send it in.

Yall know I love LM stuff - this makes me love them even more, how well they do their customers.

Made in USA, go buy some if you havent already.
If you have - go buy more!

For such small items, shipping isn't cost prohibitive. Customer satisfaction more than offsets the expense.

That and their retail price.

Also, it's not as if they're likely spending a ton of money on manufacture. They're long established and I'm sure all the components are always ready-on-hand for repairs...or replacement. It's stainless, not exotic metals nor even with hardening issues.

There's something to be said for a quality product with quality customer service.

I’ve sent my wave back in to get fixed up one time after I had lost it in the river and found it months later. They sent me a brand new one back with a letter basically saying we stand behind our products and here is proof. I’ve had leathermans ever since.

Would like to hear that story.

My local river usually releases water every afternoon in the summer during peak hours. We were wading around down there and I apparently used the tool and sat it on a rock and forgot about it. River came up and I didn’t realize I was missing it until I got home. Went back the next day and traced my path but couldn’t find it. Many months later I was down there and happened to see it down in between two rocks. It spent quite a bit of time completely under water. Sent it back expecting to pay a little money to get it cleaned up and they just sent me a brand new one.

I have a LM Blast that I've modded a bit. Wouldn't think of venturing out without carrying it.

Reminds me...I need to pick up another one for a backup should something go wrong with this one and I have to send it in.
